Below are the rules for newbies forum. Not knowing these rules will make your moderators sad and will kill fluffy bunnies. Knowing and following these rules will make your moderators really happy and will give angels wings. Lets hope for lots of twinkling of angel wings!
THE RULES:
1. Introductions, Newbies and Mentors:
There are 3 stickied posts set up in this forum - 1 for introductions, 1 for mentors able to help newbies and 1 for newbies looking for mentors. Please use these threads for their purposes. This board gets incredibly busy and your mentors will be super happy if you read the rules on these threads and stick by them. Not only will this keep the boards clean and sparkly but it will ensure your post gets looked at and responded to quicker.
To reiterate if you post outside these posts looking for a mentor, offering your help or introducting yourself your post will be locked and it will make your moderator sad.
2. Be respectful!
Nano should be a fun time for all. Please help with this by being respectful to others. Please do not use curse words, be intentional rude or make fun of others. If you see anything on this board which concerns you please help the moderators out by reporting the post. Again we want everyone to have a great month so please ensure you help us to do so.
3. Use good headers:
As i've mentioned this board gets very busy so good headers are vitally important for getting help. "I need help" is not a good header. This does not allow people to see what you need help in without going to your post, and trust me more often than not people will skip through posts like this. "How do I validate?" is a good header because people will already know your question before clicking on your post so will be able to answer you quicker.
4. Posts which do not belong in this board:
This board is for newbies (Hello!) and although we are absolutely happy you are here there are certain posts which just do not belong here. Not only because it will make the board messy but because there are boards which are set up exactly for the post. Please ensure you are aware of the various boads on the site before posting here however below are common examples which should not be posted here:
1. I do not have a plot?! Help me! - You'll find many boards on this site set up to help you with just that. From adoptables to the various genre boards there are lots of places for you to look.
2. What is the time in Germany? - Two things here. First please use google and secondly there is a board called reference desk set up to help with factual questions.
3. Would my character eat this type of food? - We dont know. Its your novel so you tell us. Or go ask at plot doctoring where the lovely people there will give you all sorts of strange foods they may eat.
4. I need help to up my word count! - Go check Reaching 50,000 where you'll find all sorts of ideas for just this.
5. Can I do x,y,z? - Although we will try to help with these it might be that you'd be better asking in the Rules board which has been set up for all sorts of technical questions on the do and do nots of Nano.
I know that these rules may appear to be quite strict but we really just want everyone to have a wonderful Nano and by following the simple rules you will be able to have a much better time and make your moderators super happy and less stressed :)
Newbie rules - please know and follow these to keep your moderators happy!
