Self explanatory question really. Regardless of how many words you wrote, or how much you love or hate the direction your plots went in, are you glad you decided to do NanoWriMo? I've learned first hand that it can be tiring, and that a novel you spend so much time daily working on and plotting for can start to take over your life. I really did have much less time to work on anything else. But I'm glad I decided to do it. LOL, I'm already thinking about possible plots for next year! How about you guys?

Absolutely! I had great fun this past month attempting to write my novel.

Unfortunately, I waited until November 1st to sign up which meant I spent little time researching your website and I was remiss in checking my pseudonym's email for those pep talks. I only made it to one Write-In... that is my biggest regret for the month, even more so than not making the 50,000 mark.

To be fair to myself, life threw me a curve that made it hard to concentrate, but I could have used that had I been more aware. I feel good about having made it to almost 35,000 words. I figure that if I keep at it, my novel might actually make a decent story by the time the next Nanowrimo is ready to begin.

Next time I will use the website better and read my pep talks, and I will attend more Nights of Writing Dangerously. I think if I had done those three things I might have succeeded this first time.

Can someone please tell me how to add my picture to my profile? I can't find the info anywhere! Actually, I've had a lot of trouble navigating the site on several occasions for different things, but this one is one that I'd really like to correct.

Hardly. I let it get me down again, one of at least four different things that really made me sad this month. Long story short- computer crashed, I literally had no way to save the night before, and I lost 10,000 words. After that, I gave up, because after pre-ordering Assassin's Creed: Revelations in /September/ for my /birthday/ and still having not received it, still not having gotten my haircut, being left out at school, and now a computer crash...it just...I shouldn't have done it- I work so hard on things, and always those things that I work so, so hard on always get lost. I've lost all sense of hope this month, especially from things outside NaNo.

I'm going to rebel and just continue next year if I get motivation. A plot that I spent six months creating, a world I built from inspiration at an arc of One Piece, and characters I have loved since I saw them in my mind- I can't just give them up. :I Next year, I'll continue, maybe.

You don't have to wait until next year.

You also don't have to blitz at 1600 words per day, either, now that November is over. Say, half an hour per day, every day - you'll make solid progress.

I'm very glad I participated. Even though I didn't get much of my book done, I learned a ton about myself, my writing habits, and my time management wild boars. Also, because I was able to dedicate some time to the process, I worked out some plot kinks that had me locked up before November. I'm going to work on my story until it is done, and I will definitely be participating next year, God willing.

Yes and no. I really struggled getting to 50k--it was sheer determination at the end, all the fun was gone.

But I do plan on participating next year--hopefully with an idea that will retain my interest more.

I am so glad, until now I was filled with ideas but each word seemed to take a century to write down due to a sometimes unbearable inner editor. Thanks to nanowrimo I finally got my ideas written down without the constant stalling, 'writer's block' and editing.

But December, the month of editing has just begun, in the next few months, I should have a book thanks to this!

I'm happy I participated. I didn't learn this existed until a week in and I had a busy month, so I didn't think I could get it done. I was really happy with myself when I managed to pull it off but now I've got a book that needs serious revisions and right now I don't even want to look at it anymore.

After a break from it I'll go back to it again. It's the second part of a series I started based on a blog I've been writing, so I have to finish it but by the time I finished the draft for this I had spent so much time looking at it that I hated it. I'm glad I did it, but now I need to not look at it for a while. And I learned that I can't write action for shit yet. So at least I learned where my weaknesses are. All in all a good learning experience and a nice sense of accomplishment at the end :)

I'm very glad I did this. While I didn't finish, the wild pressure of NaNo and *wanting* to finish motivated to me to flesh out my novel idea into something I would have never expected I would want to write. It's more ambitious and I'm thankful for it. ...kinda makes it all the more daunting to get started again on it, though. I'm afraid I don't have the talent to pull off what needs to be done.

God does not grant you ideas that you do not have the talent to bring into the world. You may not have the techniques yet, but you learn those in the execution. Go for it.

I didn't win (so close but so far. damn) but i loved it. Will definitely have a go next year.

Definetly glad I did. I haven't been that motivated to write in a really long time. And the 50k was never a goal for me, especially since I started halfway through November ^^; but it definetly did get me going. Just wish I could grab onto some of that motivation so I can continue. It's disappeared and I can't find it!

Look under the bed. That's where all the missing stuff in my house ends up, so it's probably there.
