Stuck at the beginning - Can't Create a Novel on here
Hi, everyone! I'm new here and already having a bit of trouble.
I'm trying to create my novel in the Edit Your Novel section of the first drop-down menu. I filled in all the necessary information, but it comes up with an error, which says, "Events can't be blank." However, the Event section is a drop-down menu, and the box has absolutely no options to choose from. Am I supposed to create an event myself before I try creating a novel? I'm confused.

This is a bug. You have always been able to create/edit your novel information all year. The only thing that you haven't been able to change is the wordcount. However, I thought somebody had said it was fixed...

Yep, Dragonchilde said it was a bug and is being worked on :) Apparently you can now edit your synopsis and excerpt (they weren't working either), however I'm not sure whether the bug of being unable to create a novel is fixed yet. I'd ask over in tech help :)

You can't create a novel after November 30th; NaNoWriMo is over for this year. You can create one for next year starting in October. Or, you can participate in Camp NaNoWriMo in June or August. I believe you can create a novel for those months here, but I'm not sure; Camp is fairly new.
If you can't wait that long, there is always Script Frenzy in April. It has it's own website; there is a link under Other OLL Programs.

I haven't seen the event section. Have you checked in the Tech forums to see if this is a known issue? Might have something to do with the fact that NaNoWriMo is over for this year. Not sure, but contacting the staff is your best bet.

Well I've been able to create one - but I can't change the word count of 0 words to the actual word count of 35,162 words

You can't change your wordcount at any point other than November X3

Lol, I'll have finished mine by then.
If by November X3 you mean November 2012 - er... actually now I'm not sure sure you DID mean Nov 2012 - so what DOES November X3 mean?

No, that was an emote, haha! XD I just use it a lot. Sorry, most people I talk to are used to it. =P
I mean November. You can only edit your wordcount during NaNoWriMo.
