Would you do it again?

Pretty self-explanatory :D Now that you have done Nano for the first time, will you do it again?

Me... I'm not sure! I pretty much made it by the skin of my teeth and it stressed me out more than I expected/wanted it to. I DID get quite a lot written, however, so I may take part again next year and see if I can get the purple bar once more.

How about you?

I've done Nano for the past 6 years. ^^ I think next year I'll certainly try to even though I'll have a bouncing infant at that point. x3 I feel sad though that I couldn't devote enough time to write between being sick and pregnancy tiredness >.< But, there's always next year!

Re: Would you do it again?

Most definitely. I first found out about NaNo the morning of November 1st, when I woke up and saw it on my news feed. My first thought was "I want to do something with this!", and I went head on to sign up, made up the novel's premise right at the registration page.
I am really glad that I did participate. The story just wrote itself out inside my head like a movie being played, and that I was like a typist putting it into word form. My story now is not finished yet, there is still a big battle going on, and more exciting stuffs are still coming right around the corner, even though I do not know what they will be.
In addition, when I was still in the middle of this year's novel, another great idea came up, and I just cannot resist making it into next year's NaNo. I want to let the idea marinate for sometime before writing it, as opposed to the spontaneity of this year's, and see what the difference could be.

A great thing I learned from NaNo this year is that a good novel, or just writing in general, is not about what you put in, but what you leave out. The world is too complex and full of information, to filter out the ones we can act on meaningfully is really crucial in making a piece of writing good. The hard part here is to decide what to leave out. Do you leave out the character's dress? Or do you leave out the streetlight's yellow hues? Do these information convey anything you want to say?
What I am writing here is fiction, though I think the lessons I extracted from this will help immensely with my non-fiction writing, which will be essential in my life.

Ditto above!

Didn't make it to halfway due to not being able to suspend real life but I have been motivated to start writing so I'm not stopping now. Due date Christmas Day! Plus too many friends know I'm doing it and want to read the finished book....one has appointed himself my agent and the script writing event is coming up in April....

Re: Would you do it again?

I'll have to see where I'm at next year... this year was tough because I only had approx 2hrs a day to write (3 hrs on the weekends) so if I missed even ONE day it was very difficult to make up the loss. I definitely need more disposable time on my hands if I expect to try this again.

Most likely not. NaNo has taught me I need to write on a more consistent basis. I might dedicate November as a more intensive period of writing, but I'm not going to be working on a new project solely for NaNo.

Sure, why not. It was pretty fun and challenging the first time around. Though I think I'll still do it on YWP.

Yep. I'll still officially be doing it on the YWP site, but as I got to this site's goal this last November, I…
I just forgot what I was going to say.
Carry on. ^.^
