Totes writing a Crossover fic. It's a Buffy/Harry Potter fic. So I think it probably fits best here seeing as how Buffy is a TV show and HP has movies, even though I'll be basing things off of the books.
I'm writing a sixteen "episode" reboot of the second season of the recently canceled series Human Target. The actual "episodes" will be sixteen standalone stories; three of them will tie up the cliffhanger of the first season, and the rest will serve as a standard 13 episode season that will introduce new characters and a new overarching storyline.
My actual goal is to finish the first three "episodes" by the end of November, with each coming in at around 10k words.
I'm combining two TV shows BBC's Sherlock is quite well known, but no one seems to have heard of FortySomething ^_^' Anyone out there who doesn't think of the Doctor Who Companion when I say 'Rory'?
Me too! Well mine is more a rewrite of one of my previously written but not published long fics, plus other short stories which will all add up to 50,000 at the end. I hope :) What's your idea? If you're still doing this, I realized that this was posted 14 days ago.. Ari
I'm doing a Blaine/Kurt (from Glee) but they'll be like Lily Evans and James Potter in Dalton (which'll be a wizarding school like Hogwarts) in present day.
Another Klaine 'shipper! We're everywhere this year. (Care to join us in the Writing Groups and Clubs forum?)
I'm writing an AU fantasy version of Season 2. Kurt never makes it to Dalton when Puck tells him to go spy. Instead, he ends up in a place where all lost things can be found. There are some familiar Klaine moments, but the character development and relationship dynamic is different.
I'm doing NCIS fic, actually.... It's sort of a crossover with the original novel my friend and I are co-writing, though. Which is to say, there's a character from our novel who will fit perfectly into an NCIS fic I've been trying to avoid writing for about two years now.... And it's sort of an excuse for character development.
I'll also be continuing to work on a massive NCIS fic I'm co-writing with another friend, but that one of course isn't counting towards NaNo.
Well, see, if it's a boy-koala, it could be Frank, or Steve, or Mick, or Croc (which really covers both Steve and Mick, as one is the Crocodile Hunter and the other is Crocodile Dundee.....)
If it's a girl-koala, Matilda (of the waltzing variety).
Good on you, NCIS could use some character development. I like it and all, but everybody's seriously stuck in Status Quoville and it drives me nuts on occasion.
Well, I'd be jumping back to the beginning of season 7, so I'm not sure how much actual development will be going on, as I try to keep things within the bounds of canon. Which means ending my story with Tony's mad plan to go to Somalia for revenge. We'll see what happens, though; the story may decide to go AU.
I'm finally fleshing out and doing a crossover I've been wanting to do for three years: Doctor Who with the In Death mystery series (and, yes, Nora Roberts does allow ID fanfic, she's made a statement on it.) I originally tried doing with the series 4 cast, but it works so much better with current Team TARDIS.
I'm writing a Doctor Who story set just after the latest series. Amy disappears under strange circumstances, which annoys Rory since he thought this stuff would stop happening now the Doctor's gone. Jack traces the energy signals and turns up to help Rory find her, hoping to hitch a lift off the planet with whatever took her. Later River turns up and they romp around the alien underworld of 1960's Cardiff, while Rory tries his best to be a half-decent dad to River and Jack tries his best to... well, you know, be Jack with River.
I am doing a Doctor Who/Torchwood/XFiles/Farscape crossover fic. Basically the idea grew from a conversation with a friend about all the characters from our shows we'd like to see Jack Harkness interact with. LOL.
I am still at the same point (idea-wise) I was when I posted this in the fanfiction thread and I'm unsure how many other fandoms I want to add, but basically I am hoping for a fun crossover fic with a lot of my favourite shows.
My problem was actually the other way around, like, "how can I get Jack to interact with all these characters in a believable way?" Insert The Doctor and anything is possible. lol. But certainly Jack will be the driving force of the story because you're right, he IS a force of nature. I adore him.
Well I hope I've plotted it in a believable way. I figure with the TARDIS you have the freedom to jump anywhere at any point in time which includes any era of the shows I'm crossing over with. I just hope it works out! :D
Doctor Who's basically fanfiction anyway, especially Nu Who since most of the people who make it were fans of the original. They change the rules for every episode and audio play and novel that they write, so I'm pretty sure we can get away with doing whatever we want with it. :)
You're completely right of course, with Who, but I've also reason some awful crossover fic in my time, with no real explanation why or how certain characters came together, so I really dont want mine ending up like that.
Oh, there are a few Torchwood ones that are pretty good. I think it depends on what you want from it, but they tend to be better than the Doctor Who novels.

I'm kind of going on the other side of the Whoniverse--Doctor Who and Sarah Jane Adventures. Strays and Sparks is a collection of several Doctor Who and Sarah Jane Adventure stories. Building off my already completed tribute to Lis Sladen, "The Last and the Only" is a collection of six stories (two already completed) with Luke Smith traveling in the TARDIS with the Eleventh Doctor, along with a drabble collection "Earth to Luke." It will also contain" River, Pond; Melody, Song," in which the Eleventh Doctor ends up exploring space and time with TWO River Songs at the same time. The two will tie together in "Strays and Sparks," which relies on the ending of "River Pond" to set up a new situation on Bannerman Road.
I absolutely love SJA, and since there will be no more episodes (Sniff) this is what I do instead.
sweet. I read your synopsis and it looks cool! I feel like you and my friend persephonethinx (search her) would get along really well. :) you both love Loki, it seems!
Not sure, there are some fans I may not get along with because of how they perceive him. It depends if the details of how we like something coincide more than what our actual interest is.
This interests me. I loved the movie, and Loki is definitely one of my favorites (especially after I've seen the deleted scenes!) Besides Odin and Sleipnir, naturally. :)
Will you be following the comic book 'mythology' more, or are you leaning toward the actual Norse mythology? I'd be interested. Norse mythology is something I've recently been introduced to, and I think it's fascinating.
Well its fanfiction for the Thor movie, which I guess would touch on the comic, but in truth I am using neither. Basically only borrowing the Disney/Marvel movie Loki, and the Avenger's.
Hello! I may be the only one on the forum doing this (I know others are, but I don't think they come on here often), but I am writing a fanfiction based on the movie 9 (the one about the ragdolls, not the musical).
I have a couple of different ideas now, actually. I'm considering doing Doctor Who and drop Ten off with a young River (post-LKH) at an archeology dig with a "curse" running rampage, where she makes a decision he doesn't agree on. Or I'll go modern day BBC Merlin and have Merlin try to save Morgana from repeating the past, leading up to the rebirth of Arthur. Or I'll scrap fanfiction altogether and write something original. We'll see.
My fic is a continuation of one I started two NaNos ago. I did not work on it last year, but I decided to finish it this year. The fic is called, "Survivor" and it's a The Sentinel/Pitch Black/ Stargate SG1/NCIS/Man From Uncle/ Aliens/ X-Files crossover. I'm currently rereading to get back into writing mode. Hugs and good luck to you all.
I've seen a few other people doing BBC Sherlock around here. Hey, Sherlockians! *waves*
I'm doing a Sherlock/Fringe crossover-AU-fusion thing.
It's kind of scary. I've never written any fanfiction longer than 3k. Everything I've written for the Sherlock fandom so far has been "atmospheric" stream of consciousness oneshots. I haven't written fanfic for the Fringe fandom at all. I've spent the past week doing background research, but my plot is still nonexistent...
If anyone has suggestions, I'm happy to hear them!
I agree! I always feel like he'd be the one helping Fringe Division get around all those nasty things like regulations and paperwork and civilian curiosity.
I think I've had the most fun figuring out what the other side's versions of Sherlock characters are like. I may not even use them... or they may become important to the plot. Haven't decided.
Anybody into the BBC's Merlin? I'm doing an AU fic based on it; you can visit my page if you want and add me as a writing buddy if you'd be interested in reading it when I finish or something, or just talking to me in general if you're also doing a Merlin fic. :)
I have to step up to admit my love of BBC's Merlin and that the fic you're doing sounds like an amazing concept for it. It kind of makes me wish that I was doing a Merlin fic myself. Would it be alright to add you as a writing buddy once the feature is back?
I shall be ReBooting this year. FINALLY. I've been meaning to get this done for at least eight years now. I have a 20-page outline and I can't wait to start! Allons-y, November!
I've decided to write my Hawaii Five-0 fic this year. If I can't reach 50,000 words with Hawaii Five-0 (the possibly is there), then I'll be writing a Leverage/X-Men crossover. I'm excited. :D
I'm writing a Hawaii Five-0 fanfic too! I've been brewing ideas, and bouncing them off some other fans of the show on a different forum. Mine involves a serial killer, and of course a romance. Trying to expand my ideas so that I will be able to reach the 50 thou.
I'm writing a Hawaii Five-0 fic as well! I have no patience though so I already posted the first half on AO3, but I'm hoping to hit another 50K in a continuation of the end of the story ^_^ It's an Alternate Reality if Danny had met Steve a decade earlier than he did in canon.
I love knowing that other H50 fans are writing for NaNo :)
Fanfiction for TV shows/Movies
Regardless of whether it's NCIS, Star Wars, or Glee, feel free to come here and discuss all of your November fanfic ideas for TV shows and Movies.
If you're writing a crossover fic, feel free to post it in whatever fanfiction thread you think it fits in.
Best of luck with your fics! :)
Re: Fanfiction for TV shows/Movies
Hello. I'm new here. I'm going to write a Kahlan/Cara Legend of the Seeker novel. I really hope I don't screw up the characterizations.
Re: Fanfiction for TV shows/Movies
Ooh, your story sounds interesting. Planning on posting it anywhere aftewards??

I'm combining two TV shows

Anyone out there who doesn't think of the Doctor Who Companion when I say 'Rory'?
Re: Fanfiction for TV shows/Movies
I've heard of Fourtysomething! Are you making that Rory a companion?
Re: Fanfiction for TV shows/Movies
Oh bugger, 'that' was meant to be in italics.
Re: Fanfiction for TV shows/Movies
I've seen Fortysomething! Are you combining Sherlock and Fortysomething, cause that could be interesting... :)
Re: Fanfiction for TV shows/Movies
I'm doing a Stargate Atlantis fic, with a "supernatural" twist...if you consider bio-engineered shapeshifters to be supernatural.
Re: Fanfiction for TV shows/Movies
Still tossing around the idea of something based on BBC's Merlin...
Re: Fanfiction for TV shows/Movies

I'm doing a charmed fanfic
Re: Fanfiction for TV shows/Movies
I'm doing a Supernatural fanfic. Alternate universe in which Adam Milligan escapes from Lucifer's Cage with a little help from the archangel Michael.

Re: Fanfiction for TV shows/Movies
"Excuse for character development", huh? I suppose it is that. Does the koala have a name yet?
Re: Fanfiction for TV shows/Movies
It has several..... Sort of...

I really need to write a proper synopsis. :P
Re: Fanfiction for TV shows/Movies
Oh, that sounds fantastic! Writing River and Jack together has been super easy for me. I'd love to see a proper synopsis!
Re: Fanfiction for TV shows/Movies
That sounds like fun! You can't go wrong with Jack and River together, although I feel a little bad for Rory :)
Re: Fanfiction for TV shows/Movies
I'm writing Leverage crossover fanfiction.
Leverage/Hunger Games. Yeah, it's a little weird. Okay, seriously weird!
Re: Fanfiction for TV shows/Movies
O.o! I'm writing a Leverage story myself... no crossover though
Re: Fanfiction for TV shows/Movies
SAME! *high fives*
Re: Fanfiction for TV shows/Movies
A++ moar Leverage fic forever, please.
Re: Fanfiction for TV shows/Movies
Love "Leverage!" You guys will have a great time! I'd like to see more with Parker and Hardison.

I had a similar sort of thing - as in 'Hmm, how to turn these vague ideas into a novel?' -puts Jack in it- 'Bingo!'
He's a force of nature. :D

"read some" awful fic. Ha. Dont mind me, I'm sleepy this morning :)
Re: Fanfiction for TV shows/Movies
Haha, I've read some awful official Doctor Who novels, so I sort of feel like I can probably do better. :P
Re: Fanfiction for TV shows/Movies
I'm kind of scared to read official novels from shows. I've seen snippets of some of the Torchwood ones and they were quite bad.
Re: Fanfiction for TV shows/Movies
Oh, there are a few Torchwood ones that are pretty good. I think it depends on what you want from it, but they tend to be better than the Doctor Who novels.
Re: Fanfiction for TV shows/Movies
Probably because all those novels are written for children, people tend to lack quality when writing books for kids.
