(This could never be published. Too much copyright infringement. Though I claim none of the characters except for Helena, my MC, whom I made myself. But even she is kind of fanfictiony so yeah...)

Meh, yeah, my book is based off of a song.
Well, technically 3 songs, but I think the first describes it better.
The songs are Exogenesis Symphony by Muse.

The point of the song, as described in The Resistance iTunes LP, is that life is a cycle. The same things will happen over and over again unless we ourselves can change. Part one (Overture) is the realization that the world is going to end, and we're all going to die. Part two (Cross-pollination) is the departure of a group of astronauts into the heavens to find another suitable home planet. Part 3 (Redemption- I THINK it's Redemption not sure) is when the astronauts realize that life is a cycle, and unless humanity can change their ways, it's all gonna happen over and over and over again.

The point of my story is that the cycle of time has been broken, and the panel of Timelords has chosen a recombinant DNA winged timegirl to repair it. What they don't realize is that the universe she's sent into is the home of her old friend from the lab where she was created- Lupin. But when I say old friend, I mean old- She hasn't seen Lupin since she was five, and she's eleven now, so... yeah. She doesn't recognise him at ALL for the first half of the book, and even then she's totally shocked and doesn't believe it for a while.

You see, imagination, in my book, is creation. Every story exists in its own personal universe. Sketches, like my MC, are sent into "collection universes," like her supposed home universe of manga/anime doodles.

It's kind of based off of Doctor Who as well. The first thing to damage time was when the Timelords were sent into an alternate dimension. Then, back in time (for us), prophets began to rise in ancient Greece. They widened the hole and were able to look into the future. The Greek gods were actually the High Council of Timelords. But the hole was getting bigger and bigger.
Then, the Tintin movie was made. After the movie, as that universe went on, Tintin fell into a hole in time and into another universe- the "original" Tintin universe of comic books. When the two met, they were like, "Woah, we look alike!" and, of course, made physical contact.
This tore apart that universe, and my MC's old friend, Lupin, became Tintin for a replacement one.

Now, my MC spots a vortex. Curious, she leans in, then falls into Lupin's "Tintin" universe. She kind of gets stuck on a trip to the moon. While on the moon, the word "Exogenesis" is formed in the moondust on the ground, right after she has a creepy vision of her home planet Gallifrey (timelord planet, FYI) in which a creepy guy in his late 30s is trying to take her somewhere.
She knows about Exogenesis Symphony of course, but she doesn't know what it means. So she just runs around, looking for the source. She thinks it's probably her friend Delanie but knows, somewhere inside, that it's much, much more...

Well, all the stuff that happens in the original book (Explorers On The Moon) happens, with the stowaway in all, but much, much creepier... Like, the blood of the dude who dies forms a swirly shape- the symbol for a vortex. All of these strange, mysterious events (the Exogenesis thing on the moon, the vortex blood, etc) are actually a message to her, but she doesn't know what it means.

In the end, there's another vortex and she goes into the next fictional universe, but Lupin and Delanie follow her. What she doesn't realize is that her previous adventure to the moon represented Exogenesis Symphony: first, the realization that something is seriously messed up (as the plot slowly splits completely away from the original story); then, the sending of a group of astronauts into the stars (because she goes to the moon); and lastly the realization that life is a cycle, and the same things happen over and over again (she and Lupin nearing death, like in their old days back in a lab.)

So, is it interesting? :) I hope it is. Kinda hard to explain though...
