You might want to check out the Adventure genre lounge. That's the general catch all that includes that Western genre (at least in past years that's where the Western writers have been hanging out).

Yeah, I hang out in the Mystery forum `cause my novels are mysteries. I just think it'd be cool to have a separate forum for all the trip-ups and questions specific to Westerns.

I think I will check out the Adventure forum, though. That sounds like fun...

I wrote a Western for my first NaNo, and I'm doing another one this year. Happy to see a thread for us up already!

I usually stay here in Other Genres because I tend to write cross-genre stories - the universe my past and present Western stories are set in also is Alternate History and a bit Steampunk. And there's some magic in there too.

OK, this is bizarre ... I'm KIND OF writing a Western but it's got a twist - think Tempest meets The Searchers or TRue Grit (depending on how I go with this). It's got a kind of spiritual feeling to it ... I have never written anything like it in my life so it will be interesting to see how it turns out. I'm writing for two charities and currently aiming at 100,000 words ...
