I came across the concept of taarof. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taarof ) As much as I like it, and as much as it would work in the context of the society I'm trying to create, I'm a little unsure as to how to get it to work between characters. I live in Australia. I've been raised to be blunt and honest. This sort of verbal wordplay is a little beyond me. If you could give some examples of taarof, and in how to engage characters in it without it becoming overly long and boring, it would be highly appreciated!
