I have a princess who is afraid of the horses her kingdom rides and so one day she found a large kitten, she was ten and I need a nice but kiddish name that will stick with her pet way up into her late 20's. The cat looks like a snow leopard. Grey and white with black spots, big fuzzy feet and tail. Bright green eyes. Is very loyal and loving to her and people she trusts.

Any suggestions?

Sticky!

Okay, maybe not. "Pet" names might be Mittens, Bootsie, Spot, Snowy, Envy or Jealousy (those green eyes, y'know). But it seems like kids often like other people-names for their critter, in which case it'd depend on what kind of names people have in your fantasyland. Just got done watching a "Mad Men" episode where the kids named the dog Polly - that kind of thing.

I never thought about how kids use other people's names. That is perfect thank you, I think I can use the one I originally wanted now.

Sure thing, I think that is a fine idea - in fact, now that I think about it, that is exactly what George RR Martin did in "A Song of Ice and Fire." The girl Arya named her direwolf Nymeria, after some female warrior queen (like Boudicca, I think), and it turned out to be an excellent way to characterize Arya and to tell us a little bit more about the history of the world. Go for it!
