What does she know how to do?

There is an important dialogue in my story where the MMC comments on FMC doing something (perhaps an action), and asks how she know how to do that. She responds, "Oh this? I've known how to do this before I was even born." It just slips out, and she didn't know until she said it that she knew how to do the even before birth. (I hope this makes sense.)

But I can't think of something that she could know how to do instinctively. Any ideas?

sorry for the grammatical errors. I'm not fully awake yet.

Heh well, I don't remember actually *learning* grammar, so I'm not sure when or how I did. But that's not exactly an action you can perform.

Art, I suppose, could be instinctive. Though eventually you get to the point where you have to learn *some* skills to go along with whatever talent you may have.

Likewise, music. Skill with an instrument may be learned and all, but the ability to know what sounds good seems to be instinctive.

Possibly magic, if you have a universe that permits such things. Or slhapeshifting or various paranormal thingies.

hmm, the art might be possible. Can you think of anything specific that can be applicable? (sorry, I'm completely drawing a blank here, and I'm an artist!)

colour matching? (ie, choosing, and mixing, the best background colour to complement the colour in the main object being painted/ drawn.) Essentially, it's a skill one either needs to spend hours with a colour table and massive quantities of colour theory in order to acquire, backed up by hours of trial and error with core coloured paints in order to mix said colour, or it's just something that one can do.

Well, my cousin can draw pretty much anything pretty decently, and could ever since he was pretty young (like 9, maybe younger). When I draw something, I have to have a model to get it accurate (unless it's not *supposed* to look realistic), but somehow he's just always been able to draw stuff accurately purely from his imagination.

I'd guess any medium more complicated than pencil would be difficult to do this with, as you'd need to learn too many techniques.

You could also make it a fib or a brag. And then have her panic when asked to do it again. It'll give you some time to come up with whatever the heck she forgot to tell you, and a little bit of convenient angst or humour to add to the word count as your FMC tries to get out of doing it again.
