Crabby Presents - Guilt : this time its personal!

Even more personal than it was the other times around of course! For those new to this guilt/hate/envy-fest that is now entering its fourth year, I welcome you, one and all! I want you to imagine circus music in the background while you read this post, something frenetic and fast paced. Now where was I, ah yes.

Starting in 2008, a lowly crab, a humble but exceedingly handsome crab got an idea. Everyone likes to talk about positive reinforcement and we can all look forward to those charming emails routinely pepping us up, but for the jaded souls among us (and there are many - we are writers after all!) that just isn't enough, we need a little something extra to get us through November. That something extra is guilt, abuse, gratuitous sadism and so much more, whatever you can pull out of your hats and throw at each other, as long as it gets results.

So let's have at it ladies and gentlemen, let's guilt each other into success in 2011. See someones word count not moving? Someone making excuses? Kick their ass into gear and watch it shoot back up and then get back to working on your own or risk the same abuse. Now let's introduce ourselves shall we? It'd be the height of impropriety to jeer at people we haven't even said hello to yet!

Not even 400 words at the midnight launch! This is why I need to be guilted into progress, how's everybody else doing so far? I'm sure I'll get another 1200 done before the days end...probably, maybe...

Solunar....my nemesis...... I suppose it was too much to hope that you'd lost your arms in a freak boating accident since last year*. This year I shall refrain from all boasting all promises of your imminent defeat and instead work quietly and humbly behind the scenes to bring you down while saving my jeers and taunts until the very end...

Ah who am I kidding, I can't do it. You're going to lose Solunar, three times is four too many for you to triumph, it will end in 2011! In fact it's already ending, you're behind me, get used to it because you'll spend a lot of time there this year. Stay confident though - pride goeth before the fall and you have a hell of a lot of pride!!

Probably not in the near future though. Still planning out a few characters before I really start. It's like fixing up all the gears and bolts in the engine to get a fast start.

Taja, welcome back!!! Totally agree Solunar, it -is- exciting to see everyone gathering to beat you. Repeated years? Oh you really have to drive the point home, arghh, repeated, you could have left that word off! It's weird that you haven't started yet though, I was so anxious about it, I had to start at midnight and I barely had any planning done, didn't feel the best.

Ok once I'm done with study for today (next half hour) i should be good to go, anybody know what the deal with the word counts is? Are they not showing up on the new forums? I had to change my time zone before it'd let me update mine, they must have lost some of the old settings.

I'm good with guilt. I'm in Seattle, so I still have 2 hours to look over my outline (I wrote it 2 months ago and haven't touched it since). Of course, I'm being guilted out of my bed by my tired husband who just wants to go to sleep. Hmm.... where to write, where to write??

I'm giving myself some of the Halloween candy for every 1,667 words I write today. Should work pretty well, since I haven't eaten a bit since I stocked up.

Crabs is obviously ignoring my comment about taja overtaking him. He's also ignoring the fact that I'm at 2k.

Maybe it was a tactical ignore, sort of like a tactical retreat except this ends with me beating both you and taja in a surprise overtaking!
