It's time for the final grading system before the end of the month. There will be a thread like this in early december, but it will be a abridged grading scale. This is the last normal grading scale until Script Frenzy 2012. The "On-Time" total for week four is 46,676.
Remember, do not count words written AFTER day 28. Here's the scale:
O (Outstanding) - 50,000 words or more E (Exceeds Expectations) - 47,001-49,999 words A (Acceptable) - 46,000-47,000 words P (Poor) - 40,000-45,999 words D (Dreadful) - 33,500-39,999 words T (Troll) - 33,499 words or less
My grades:
Week 1- P (8,667) Week 2- P (22,124) Week 3- A (35,044) Week 4- E (47,334)
ENCOURAGEMENT....mostly!
O's - You've won! congratulations!
E's and A's - Keep plugging along, you will get there! Remember your previous years of winning, if applicable, and look at what you've already done this month! As said by the week 5 pep talk, don't be the little engine that can't. Be the little engine that could.
P's- It's somewhat doubtful, but you can still win! Wether you're at 45k or 42k, you just have to write 3-5 thousand words a day, depending on your end-of-day-28 word count, in order to win. Yes, it's hard to do. But it's worth attempting! Even if you do lose some sleep, sanity, or offline socilazation time as a result, Believe you can do it. I've done 3k in a day before. So can you. Remember, 5-10k words is NOTHING compared to all the words you've written so far. Finish strong and claim that winner badge.
D's- You are in a bit of a bad situation. You have to write anywhere from 10,001 to 16,500 words over the course of days 29 and 30. It's possible, yes. But it won't be easy. But even if you feel you can't reach 50k, which, let's face it, would be a miracle, reaching 45k, or even 40k, is much more than many wrimos reach and is still a great achivement. Finish Strong. If you can make it into the forty thousands, you should be very proud. Many wrimos end the month in the 30 thousands or lower. Don't be one of them. Strive to write as much as you can and give it every moment you can. Remember, you're the little engine that could!
T's- If you feel you can reach 40k, strive for that! If not, try for 35k, or 30k if you're really behind. And if you feel you can't even reach 30k without a genie granting you 3 wishes, well, just try again next year. Or at camp nano. Or some spin-off of NaNo. In my opinion, goals lower than 30k aren't really worth striving for. Just accept the terrible loss, continue your story in some other month, and make your next attempt at 50k in a month when you feel the time is right and there is a na-no like competition- spin-off or OLL-directed- in the month that you'd like to try again in.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Enjoy sharing your grades. I guess you could celebrate 50k here as well, or you can explain why you're behind this late in the month and how you'll catch up, if that's applicable to you.
I'm a Poor rating. That's sad. I kind of thought I was doing better than poor but definitely not excellent. By tomorrow I'll be a winner though. That I am sure.
I'm a poor, too, BUT I've been writing about 4,000 words a day for the past week and a half due to some things that came up earlier this month that kept me from writing. I'm almost to 47,000 so I think I can pull of 3,000 more words. I'm so excited. This has been an AWESOME experience for me!!!
