For me, I had the most difficulty with the last 91. It's not that I ran out of stuff to write, it's that I divided my story into two "books" and had finished the first one with 91 words left to write. I knew there were some bare patches to go back and fix up, but I wasn't in any better position to fill those out than I had been at the time. I ended up going back in and adding some paragraphs here and there and unintentionally hit exactly 50,000!
I had a rough patch somewhere between 25k and 35k. I realized my pacing of the story wasn't so good, and didn't know where to go next, but I forced myself to keep going.
I had my usual week two slump, but really the toughest part is today. I have a bit less than four thousand words to write before midnight, and although I know I can do it, I have just about hit the wall.
40k - 45k was having a real battle getting the words out since I didn't have a proper plan and I was wrapping up so I couldn't ramble on like I did with the rest.
This last stretch has been really hard for me. I just ran out of stuff to add. I am seriously in awe of those who have so much to write. I thought 50k wouldn't finish the novel but I'm done and I still have 2K left to write. I've already done a prologue and an epilogue! I feel like anything else I add is just filler crap. I wish I knew what I was missing or what the secret is to being able to write a good length novel.
42-48k, which I did yesterday. I definitely started putting in some filler crap, but accidentally wrote some scenes that will be important but that I hadn't known how to write earlier. So it's all good. ;)
Between 5K-15K, I was having trouble getting my thoughts down. Then the last 5K was tough as well. Mostly because I was trying to make sure the ending was perfect, but I had to convince myself that that was impossible - and there will be plenty of time to edit in the future. :P
By far it was 30k to 40k. I simply ran out of ideas. After 40k I had just gotten an idea to add at the beginning of each chapter which worked out really well. but 30-40 i just had no idea how to connect the beginning and end. And no will to do it either.
I had a bunch of rough patches this year, but probably 20-25K and 95-100K were the hardest. You would think the last little push would be easy, but for some reason I just felt like giving up.
Which Stretch Was the Hardest for You?

Re: Which Stretch Was the Hardest for You?
I am right there with you. I haven't typed a word today and I don't know why.

Re: Which Stretch Was the Hardest for You?
The stretch starting on the 22nd when I started playing Skyrim.
Re: Which Stretch Was the Hardest for You?
45K - 50K. I don't know why, but suddenly I couldn't draw things to a close and it all got so surreal I could barely keep track of the story.
Re: Which Stretch Was the Hardest for You?
Week two, which was about 10k -15k. I got sick and coughed up a couple of days there.

The night I wrote 11,111 words. Hehe.

Re: Which Stretch Was the Hardest for You?
the first couple of weeks. I was really sick and the story just was not moving. Now it is going strong.
Re: Which Stretch Was the Hardest for You?
Around 22 to s8k was really hard for me. I just couldn't make myself write.
Re: Which Stretch Was the Hardest for You?
25k-31k. Had writer's block during part of week three.
Re: Which Stretch Was the Hardest for You?
20k - 30k. Not much was happening in the plot, and I was running out of ideas

Re: Which Stretch Was the Hardest for You?
Everything from 33k to 40k.
Re: Which Stretch Was the Hardest for You?
The last half. I had to write 20k+ in two days, which was difficult because I had other commitments to attend to as well.

Re: Which Stretch Was the Hardest for You?
Week Three. I was doing 2k a day, so that's around 30k words.
