i only made it to 41,000 a little bit more and i can make it. im going to do my best to finish it! anyone in the smae boat as me? :) together we write the end!
Me too! I've got the 50,000 words, but my story is most definitely not finished yet - and I know that if I don't keep writing it in December, I'll never get round to finishing it
And then when I've finished this one, I can go back to finishing the second draft of last year's nano :)
after taking out all of the pages of me talking to myself trying to figure out where i was going next without losing momentum on the word count i ended up with around 30k of actual usable story. I still have 10 or so scenes planned I plan on finishing it but I Planned on finishing last years also and I never got around to it.

Never fear! There is a group of intrepid WriMos that are doing NaNoFiMo (finishing month) in December. The goal is to get a completed first draft- get that support your got in November! Go, go, go!
Oh, I am absolutely finishing Hospice! Hopefully in December, but definitely before my birthday early next year.
I still think I would have finished if all my computer problems, family issues, and having to actually MOVE in the second half of November hadn't killed productivity. I had 32,601 before Dec. 1st, but no internet until now.
Of course, this story wants 75 or 100k... it won't be near finished at 50,000. Wish me luck.
My plot, worryingly, has barely even begun. At the beginning of the month I was so concerned with my wordcount that I fleshed things out a LOT, and I hit 50k when I wasn't even a quarter of the way through. I know where it ends and what's going to happen so I should be able to finish it, but it's kind of daunting knowing how massive the rewrite is going to have to be. I want to actually finish the thing before I start rewriting it, but I'm really struggling to carry on when I know how much of it I'm going to have to change when I cut all the unnecessary stuff from the beginning of the month.
I kind of want to rewrite what I've already got first so that it doesn't keep bothering me, and because it's going to be less horrific cutting down 50k of words than cutting down 250k! But I know that if I do, I'll probably get so frustrated that I'll never get round to writing the rest.
I'm nearly at 42k now, and still barely getting much of the real exciting stuff in. As soon as winter break starts (two more days!) i'm going into full on writing mode. For me, nano has really just been what's gotten me motivated to stark writing again. so heck yeah im continuining!
Oh, I'm with you. Currently at almost 70k - but hey, this monster will probably end somewhere around 120k (that's what it's sibling aka Trilogy part One ended up with).
I am also trying to finish my novel. Nano was actually supposed to be me finishing the novel even though it will probably end at 100k but yeah...didn't happen. But I'm at 80k as of tonight and chugging along. I've crashed at 'oh god the quality' again which isn't great though. Since it's not NaNo I feel less allowed to make it dull crap.
Anyway, still going! And at the end of this that's the end of the trilogy and I can FINALLY start to edit. One year two months later.
I hit 95,000 at about five am this morning and am on my third to last chapter. I didn't realise I was on 80k four days ago! I'm impressed with myself now and really happy about my progress. Must be all that Buffy watching. Go go go to anyone here still kicking that novel along!
Congrats to you! That's got to be a good feeling :)
Thanks for the inspiration/motivation. I hit the 50k goal in November, but I suspect the first draft will be around 90k. I took December off to work on some shorter projects and do holiday/end of semester stuff, and I've been trying to get back in gear to finish now that it's January. I'm trying for 1k a day, and while I haven't quite made that, I hit 63k last night, so I'm getting there. It's nice to see someone else in a similar boat pull it off!
Anyone trying to finsih what they wrote? I am! whos with me!

Re: Anyone trying to finsih what they wrote? I am! whos with me!
I use NaNoWriMo to get a running start on what I'm writing. Unless I try really hard, aiming at a 'short' story, 50K is just the beginning.
Re: Anyone trying to finsih what they wrote? I am! whos with me!
Oh yeah. I've got plans for it! Need to finish this draft first of course. :)

Yeah- I need to finish. I think/hope I can do it.
Re: Anyone trying to finsih what they wrote? I am! whos with me!
I'm only about 2/3 of the way through my plot, so I'll be getting back at it. Taking a break for my son's birthday ATM. (Just made a robot cake!!)

I'm definitely going to try to finish what I wrote. The holiday break is the perfect time, too!!
Re: Anyone trying to finsih what they wrote? I am! whos with me!
I'm going to finish my novel, despite my trepidations... but in the new year, or later.

I'm getting there-- I have another 5000 words written this month. Not much, but still progress!

I finished! I finished! 181 pages, 110k and I have finally finished that pesky trilogy I started in 2011's NaNo. I'm off to print it right now :D
