Where I live, there's not a Starbucks remotely near my house or school, so teenagers tend to go to QuickTrip, which actually has pretty decent coffee for a convenience store. People who drive further to work are more likely to pass a Starbucks, so they'll go there, and Panera is pretty popular, too, since they're everywhere. In other places I've lived, it's far easier to find a Caribou Coffee than a Starbucks, so people go there. Dunkin' Donuts isn't nearly as popular, but it has the problem that there's only one locally. The gas station's is cheaper and tastier than McD's, and they do a pretty good stock of pastries in the morning as well. There's a Starbucks nearby, but everyone sort of feels 'loyal' to the gas station - the owner knows us all by name, and if we go awhile without stopping in she'll ask us if everything's okay. The town I used to live in, there were four all on the same street, within 2 miles of each other (and it was definitely a town, not a city). Personally, I get Dunkin Donuts every morning. It's pretty popular in the Midwest US. I went to college in Michigan and in my college town we had 3 Biggby's for every Starbucks. Here, businessmen and rich people actually DO buy Starbucks every day. I drink Starbucks every once in a while, but it's almost always on a day at the shops. Some people buy theirs from Dunkin Donuts, but most (at least from my experience) brew their own at home. All fast food restaurants make some, and it's pretty cheap. Gas stations always sell it, and my more Northern cousins always drink Caribou. There are at least two in every small town surrounding Houston. Nobody else, besides Dunkin' Donuts, really advertises coffee. And there aren't really any Dunkin' Donuts in my side of Houston that I know of, so everybody just goes to Starbucks. The cashier didn't have any idea what I was talking about when I wanted to order "some of those donut holes" that I saw on the shelf behind her. The donuts weren't quite as tasty as the ones I can get at the grocery store, but they're much better than Dunkin.
