Jacob Walker blinked blearily, he felt as if he had been dreaming but he could quite what remember what it was about-something nice he thought. A bright beam of light fell over his eyes and he was surprised his mother wasn't scolding him for sleeping in so late. He sat up with a start. This room most certainly wasn't his. He couldn't remember going anywhere the night before but now here he was in a small room with nothing but white washed walls and a narrow bed. When he pulled on the door knob his heart sank into his stomach when he felt it was locked. "Hello? Is anyone here?"

Emelia awoke with a start, breathing heavily. What could she remember? She could remember a brief scuffle when she walked out of the ballet studio, but after that there was blackness. Emelia squinted in the dark light, whimpering when she looked around and found nothing. She couldn't see much. She was on a bed, that much she could tell. Everything else was dank. Emelia let out another scared whimper when she heard a noise, and jumped when she heard a voice, asking if anyone was there.
"Hello? Hello! I'm here!"

Astrid's nostril's flared as she took in a deep breath. Bleach. Damp. Cotton.
That didn't --
Panic clenched her chest like a frigid vice and terror welled in her throat.
Where was she? How had this happened? Who was she with?

She parted her cracked lips and wet them sluggishly. She put a hand to her face, grimacing at the nasty goose egg near her temple. She sat up and blinked. Shadows. Only shadows. She turned her face from side to side.

She frowned and swallowed thickly. Her hands clneched in the material of her rust-coloured dress.

"Hello? Is anyone there -- I'm here!"

--

Her steps her quick and tapping against the tiles as she strode through brightly lit hallways, seemingly oblivious to those that tried to ail her back or keep her form her task.

Annoyance and fear pulled her mouth into a bleached line.

The phone pressed tightly to her ear rang and rang and rang before the cheerful -- and loud -- voice messaging system kicked in. Freya hung up in disgust, worry chewing holes in her stomahc lining. Astrid wasn't picking up her phone. She wasn't at home. She wasn't anywhere.

"Ash, where are you?" she muttered.

Jacob cocked his head to one side as he heard voices, both female, one on either side of his room. Apparently he wasn't the only one confused about where he was and how he had ended up there. "Can you get out of your rooms?" He queried of either of the females as he fruitlessly tugged on the door handle.

The first voice was a boy's. It seemed the same age as her own and was oddly comforting. She ran to the wall, her thin legs like jelly, pressing her ear there. He asked if she could get out of her room, and Emelia squinted around, trying to find the exit. She ran her hands against a wall until she came across something. A handle! Emelia locked her hand around it and tried to open it. She jiggled it around and then yanked at it to no avail.
"No!" She moaned. "I can't..."

Jacob frowned at the door in his room and ran his hand along it, trying to see if there was a lock he was able to undo after a moment he sighed. "Don't worry. I'm sure this is all some big mix up."

He stumbled back as step as the door was pushed open and a woman accompanied by three men entered the room. "Oh, yes, Jacob. A huge mistake, we never intended for any of this to happen." The woman smiled ferally at him, her teeth almost looking sharpened. "Come along, so much to do so little time."

The teen shook his head, slowly backing away until he hit the concrete wall behind him. One of the men approached, Jacob glared up at him but flinched away when he raised a hand as if to strike. The man simply chuckled and grabbed a hold of his arm before pulling the teen from the room.

A heavy hand was placed on each of Jacob's shoulders as the woman unlocked the door to the next room over, the one holding the younger girl.

Astris stumbled out of bed, panic flickering through her. They were quiet -- or rather, there was footsteps, and muttered words, and then quiet. It didn't bode well.

She pressed ehr palm flat to the wall and felt her way aorund the room. The door was lock and the latch cold. She yanked on it anyway, only to retreat to the far corner.

She didn't even have her cane -- damnit!

Emelia was scared, that much she could tell. The voice from the room next to her was gone, in fact, she heard something else. A woman's voice, though she couldn't hear a thing that they said, just muffled voices. Emelia blinked, face contorting into absolute fear.
When she heard the shuffle of footsteps come closer to her door, Emelia ducked down to see the shadow underneath the drack of the door, and she let out a breath. She shuffled backwards, back towards the door. Squinting when the light filled her room, Emelia shielded her eyes. She could make out some people in the hallway, one of them, the one who was under incarceration, appeared to be the one who had called for her.
"Why hello there, lovely Emelia." The woman's voice was almost seductive, amusing, and Emelia trembled when a man took Emelia's arm and brought her to her feet which were trembling with fear, pushed her towards the entry. Emelia's legs were jelly, and she looked with wide, nervous eyes to the boy.

Jacob could tell the girl was frightened, even if he didn't know because he was feeling the same way, but from the way her gray eyes were dilated. She actually looked like she was going to simply pass out from terror, if it weren't for the iron like grasp holding him back he would have offered his hand for support. Instead he simply gave her a small, forced smile--reassuring here that there was someone friendly here.

One of the men muttered something under his breath as he inspected the girl, causing the one holding Jacob to chuckle. "Come on, baby, I heard you were ballerina. You wanna dance?"

The woman simply shook her head as she unlocked the third door, the one from which Jacob had heard the second voice and stepped inside.

Astrid tensed as the door opened -- the hinges creaked, the woman (and it was a woman, something about the stride) walked heavily. Light spilled into the room from the hall, casting shadows.

She scowled and tightened her hands into fists.
"Who are you? And what is the meaning of this?"

The man who dragged her out of that dark room was at least double the size of her, and Emelia looked up at him now that they were in light. It wasn't extremely light, but it was something more than what she saw before. The man looked down at her with an almost taunting look, and Emelia forced herself to look away. She tried to take in her surroundings. To her left was that boy, held up by a man just as big as the one who was holding Emelia. He gave her a smile, and Emelia tried to smile back. The smile meant she could trust him, even though her heart was pounding with fear.

She blushed violently at the man who was holding the boy, looked away from him at his taunt, her hair spilling over her face. Emelia looked at the woman in front of her. There was someone else. But Emelia wasn't going to make it that far without learning anything.
"Who are you? Where are we?"

"Astrid. Astrid. Astrid." The woman clucked, "Best not forget our manners. After all without manners what separates the men and the monkeys?"

Jacob bit his lip as watched the girl interact with the woman; braver than either he or the youngest of the three had been. Still he winced when a man grabbed her arm and pulled her towards him.

((I MISS edit!!!!))

Jacob was relived to see the first girl give him an attempt at a smile, it meant she was still thinking at least semi clearly. Even if her next questions did little to prove that.

The woman, still inspecting Astrid, called over her shoulder. "Curiosity killed the cat!"

"But satisfaction brought it back." Jacob added before he could stop himself and then instantly turned blue eyes towards the floor. "S-sorry."

Her lips curled back from her teeth in something that could only be called a smile if you really stretched your imagination. Something like fear anf fury mingled in her chest.

One hand remained pressed to the wall, the fingers splayed as if to anchor the woman to the spot. Her other hand lashed out at the man who pulled at her. Ah, blind luck-- if you forgive the pun. W shock bounced all the way up to her shoulder, her knuckled throbbed dully. She remained planted where she stood, muscles rigid with tension.

"That would mean a hell of a lot more if I didn't have a goose-egg the size of my fist on my temple. Who are you, and why have you kidnapped me -- us? Don't touch me!"

The other woman put up one hell of a fight, she could hear everything. In blatant denial, shock rattled through her bones when she distinctly heard the word 'Kidnapped'. If Emelia didn't get an answer, this woman would fight until she got one. As it was, Emelia got a bit of a jerk from the man holding her for shouting those things out.
The answer Emelia was called was hardly an answer, and was in fact, rather harrowing foreshadowing or anything. The boy's next line was mildly ironic, and Emelia couldn't help the little smile she gave him, now.

The man cursed for a moment under his breath, he thought this girl was supposed to be blind. In his experience blind people were never that accurate when fighting. "Damn it. Just hold still or I'll give you a lot more than a goose egg."

The woman just shook her head, "Really, dear, there's nothing nice about that." After a moment she nodded to towards the man who held Jacob.

In response he pushed the boy up against the wall, "Don't you dare move or I'll make sure you can't."

Eyes wide Jacob nodded until the man loosened his grip and turned to assist his companion with Astrid. A blind girl would not be able to handle two men at once. Jacob's eyes followed this man before he took half a step forward and then paused, doing anything could go poorly for all of them.

He bit his lip and then edged towards Emelia, extending his hand to her but keeping it low. "I'm Jacob."

Astrid shifted away from the wall. Her hands curled into loose fists and she brought them up to gaurd her face while her stance widened.

Judo wouldn't really work unless one of them grabbed her, but it'd be worth a shot. The light in here wasn't good enough that she could makeout anything other than the faintest, vaguest of blurs, black on black.

Footsteps. Men. Heavy boots, heavy tread. Two of them. Plus the woman. Plus the other two hostages.
She frowned and tracked the oncoming men with useless eyes.

"You can try," she said, more bluster than sense. "But I won't be taken unawares this time."

He sidled over to her, and Emelia kept her head low, tried to hide her fear by swallowing it down and murmuring out her own name through trembles.
"Em-em-emelia."

One of the men chuckled at the woman's threat. "Girlie, you can't keep track of both of us. Besides if you keep fighting we've got other ways of makin' you come. Or we could just leave you in here for the rats to chew."

Jacob took her hand a gave it a reassuring squeeze before being pushed away by the man who held Emelia. "He told you to stay put."
