The angels all sat in a line on the bleachers. Madame Patricia walked down the line a fine eyebrow raised. She wore white robes with silver and gold trim, her long golden tresses held up in a severe bun. "Alright, is everyone ready? Good. Now, you shall be dressed in common human clothing, it will make it easier for you to immerse yourself in their culture." She waved a hand and a curtain of golden dust fell on the angels. When it disappeared their white robes were gone and replaced by jeans and t-shirts and other human clothing. Madame Patricia nodded and smiled at the angels. "Good luck." She pulled on a lever and the bleachers disappeared, dropping the angels through the clouds. She wiped away a fleck of dust and walked away. "You'll need it." She muttered, and got back to her duties.
Lee looked at her new clothes as she flew down towards the ground. She wore a pair of light raggedy blue jeans and a large gray sweater. It was advertising some pet shelter. Her hand flew to her hair. She sighed in relief. Her hat was tied securely to her head. She grinned. This would be fun. She looked around at the city below her. "So many cars, so many people!" She spotted their apartment and flew towards it, long brown hair whipping behind her.
Daniel grinned as he dropped towards the ground. He wore a pair of black jeans, a navy blue t-shirt, and a leather jacket. He plummeted towards the ground gaining speed as he grew closer and closer to the earth. He looked around as a airplane zoomed past him and flipped it the finger. He looked down at the street below him. Four feet from the street he spread his wings and flew towards their apartment. He wondered who his author would be.
Nicole grimaced, or as close to a grimace as she could manage, which looked more like she was having a stroke, as she fell. She wore a large yellow sweatshirt and gray jeans. She touched the baseball cap on her head. It was an interesting addition. She put her hands on her stomach and tried not to throw up. She hated flying so high. She licked her lips and spread her wings wide, slowing her down. She took a deep breath and flew don towards their apartment.
Nathaniel flew down, slowly, towards the ground. He wore a dark green jacket, and navy blue jeans. He combed a hand through his hair and looked around at the city around him. It certainly looked interesting. He slowed as he neared the ground and he hovered several feet above the sidewalk. He flew towards the apartment, keeping low.
Margret looked at her computer, blankly. Her head hit the keys. "What the hell am I supposed to write!?" She yelled at her desk. Her roommate didn't even bat an eyelash. It had been all she had heard for the last week. Marget grabbed the screen of her computer and shook it, furiously. "What! Am! I! Supposed! To! Do!?!" She waled. "There's only one more day!!" She put her head in her hands. "I'm going to lose! I should just give up now!" She whimpered.
Justin walked into his room and pulled over his laptop. He started browsing the NaNoWriMo website and pondered what what he was going to write. Something about... Action. And spies. Ooh, and cars flipping over! He grinned to himself.
Nik landed hard on his feet, wincing slightly when he couldn't get his wings out in time to slow his fall. He glanced down at his clothes. Black jeans, a t-shirt advertising for some band he'd never heard of, and what felt suspiciously like an earring in one ear. He ran a hand through his icy blond hair and walked out of sight. He spread his silvery wings before glancing around. Where was he supposed to find an author again?
Lee walked up the steps to the apartment and opened the door. Se walked inside.
Daniel landed, lightly, on a rooftop and looked around. He saw Nik down below and waved to him. "Hey!" He called and stepped to the end of the roof, making it easier for Nik to see him.
Daniel sat down and slung his his legs over the edge of the roof, dangling them over the side. "Not yet, I think they'll tell us at the apartment." He grinned. "Exciting, huh? I wonder who I'll get."
Nik flew up beside him with a few quick beats of his wings. "Not sure," he said with a shrug. "It's been a couple of years since I was someone's angel. I'm still recovering from my last WriMo."
Daniel raised an eyebrow. He grinned, excitedly. "Really? What happened? Did they win? Who'd you get? Was it awful?" He leaned forward, mesmerized. He had always wanted an author, ever since he was small. He had been waiting for this day for a long time.
Nik grimaced. "It was a perfectionist. We got along great, because I am too. Then she deleted an entire chapter. An. Entire. Chapter. I never thought I was going to heal up. Yes, actually, we did win that year."
Daniel grimaced. "A whole chapter? Is she mad or something?" He shuddered. "I could not live with a perfectionist." He perked up. "I hope I get a hotty." He grinned.
Samuel dropped to the ground gracefully, spreading out his beautiful white wings. He swept his dark-brown hair out of his eyes and surveyed his clothes. Jeans. A leather jacket. Brilliant. Now to find his author.
It didn't take long for this to happen - he just followed the screams of frustration to where Margret was. He stared disdainfully down at her empty computer screen. "You haven't started." Disappointment dripped like honey through his voice. "Hurry up, then."
Margret glowered at Samuel. "I still have a few hours till NaNo starts, dumbass. I'm just working on my outline." She paused and her head swung around. 'Holy shit!" Her chair thudded into the opposite wall. Her eyes were wide. "Who the hell are you!? I'm calling the cops!"
Daniel's face fell. "Why are you so mean? You never let me have any fun." He folded his arms and pouted.
"It's my job to look after you young'uns," Nik answered amiably, straightening his feathers. His hand moved to the odd weight in his ear and found a gold hoop hanging from it. "You've got to be kidding me."
Daniel let himself be pushed. He leaned far to the side, almost touching the roof, then sprung back, leaning towards Nik. He grinned. "Aww, your so cute when you play hard to get. Besides, I like a challenge." He grinned.
((I was so tempted to write: 'He grinned, hornily' XD ))

Nik rolled his eyes at the younger angel. "How mature of you."
Re: NaNoWriMo Angels
Daniel grinned. "What? I'm just trying to embrace the culture. Aren't most human teenage boys horny? I sure hope so." He said, waggling his eyebrows.

Nik laughed despite his better judgement. "You'll probably end up with a guy in his fifties who collects stamps for a living," he replied, smirking.
