Dan looked around the house hurriedly, making sure everyone was all right. Julie had already left for work. It was summertime, but that didn't change the fact that he still had places to go. The house was crowded and noisy, as usual. But he smiled in spite of everything. He grabbed his car keys off the counter and headed to the door, ready for work.
Justin watched as his dad left. He stood upstairs wandering around aimlessly. His friends were busy that day, so, it left him stuck at home with all of his siblings. He hummed his favorite song as he went to go watch television.
Sylvia checked her watch as she washed Sammy. "Justin! They are gone! Should be." she said, always making sure things were going smoothly. "Oh, and that new kid is coming today!"
---
Brandon watched nervously as the chauffeur put his bags in the truck on a limo and opened the door for him. He nervously got it. To...to wherever, he thought.
Carmen placed her suitcase on the ground, outside of the big house. This was where she had to live? Peeking inside the window, she could see people getting ready for the day. She checked her phone. Why was she even up this early? At least she wasn't stoned. That would make a good first impression. She flopped down on her suitcase, lounging out until someone noticed her. Knocking on the door was too much work.
Dacia walked out of her room, down the stairs, past her many many many siblings...and there were many. She walked into the kitchen and began rooting around in the cabinets for something to eat. "Parents out?" she asked the kid who was already in the kitchen with her.
Lizzie hurried down the stairs towards the entrance of the house. Silvia was giving Sammy a bath, so he was occupied for the time being. She glanced out the window by the front door, seeing a girl sittting on her suitcase. She swung open the door, plastering a smile on her face. "You must be Carmen."
Emily closed the door to her room, trying to block out some of the noise. She grabbed a book and sat down on the bed, starting to read and hoping no one would interrupt her for once.
Carmen quirked an eyebrow when the girl opened the door. Was she one of the people that lived in that house? She looked too happy. People shouldn't be that happy. Nevertheless, Carmen stood up, picking up her suitcase. "Yeah, that's my name. Don't wear it out."
Sylvia headed downstairs with Sammy in a towel, drying him off. She looked at the disaster of a front room. "People! Clean this up! The new kid is coming today!" she yelled.

Atalya yawned and stretched, displacing the small calico kitten on her lap, "Sorry Litz," She murmured to it, before sitting up all the way. Litz, who was named after the musical Chicago, just jumped off the bed and padded towards her castle in the corner. Atalya's room was cluttered, full of clay blocks, full easels and trays of paint and brushes. Atalya was organized, she could find anything in her room using her system, but her room didn't show it very well. She smiled and pulled her long blonde hair back into a ponytail. She looked down at her baggy tie-dye tee shirt and short shorts and sighed. She looked presentable enough to grab an apple for breakfast and then head back up here to paint before lunch. She opened the door. "Are you coming Litz?" She asked the kitten, a birthday present from a year ago, "I'd hate for dad to think you were avoiding him." The kitten opened one pale green eye to glare. Atalya laughed, "I'll take that as a no," She smiled and walked towards the kitchen.
Maddie sighed and stared at the ceiling of her room. She had a busy day plan, starting with eating breakfast and than going to the mall to shop with friends. She hadn't told Dan that yet, but she was sure he'd let her. She smiled, and then it was dance practice and coming home for supper. Maddie's summer days were always packed, just the way she liked them. She let out a sigh again and sat up. She walked to the door, not caring that she was still in the matching polar bear pajama set she got for Christmas, and headed to the kitchen. Nodding to Atalya, who had just come out of her room as well.

Atalya looked at Sylvia and shook her head, "We're always in our pajamas," She told her with a smile, "And there's always a new kid," She shrugged, "I'm just here to get the creative juices flowing. I have that art exhibit next week, remember? You said you were going to be there," She turned to Dan, "You promised. As a birthday present," Her birthday was next week, and while her few friends were coming over to spend the night, her exhibit was the thing she looked forward to most, "I have to finish two more paintings and that sculpture of Litz."
Maddie sighed, "Chill Sylv, I'm gonna take a shower after I eat. No big deal."
Emily heard Sylvia yelling. She considered ignoring her, but then she'd probably get in trouble later. Marking the page she was on, she closed her book and began changing out of her pajamas.
Carmen nodded. "Thanks." She walked towards the girl, peeking inside of the house. "Are there a bunch of strict rules here or something?" she asked as she heard someone yelling at everyone to get dressed and clean.
"Not really," said Lizzie with a slight laugh. "That's just Silvia. She likes to make a good impression on the new kids." She led Carmen into the kitchen. "This is Horace, Atalya, Maddie, Silvia, and Sammy," Lizzie said, pointing out each of the kids and reaching to take Sam from her triplet's arms. "Go eat, I got him," she ordered Silvia. She adjusted the five-year-old on her hip and headed for the stairs. At the top, she took a left into the hallway. "You're room is at the end," Lizzie explained. "I'm going to get Sammy dressed, so if you want to drop off your stuff I can introduce you to the rest of the house."

Maddie opened her mouth to say hi, but Lizzie had whisked Carmen away before she could say anything, "Is that the new kid?" She asked Silvia. Atalya yawned and grabbed an apple, biting into it, she kept her eyes on her father, or her uncle/father-like figure, she had always called Uncle Dan, dad. She waited patiently, still eating the apple.

Atalya rolled her eyes, she was seeing things again this morning, "I'm going to my room. If someone needs me," She walked towards her room, running into Lizzie again, "So is that the only new girl?" She asked, taking another bite of her breakfast.
Lizzie was buttoning up Sammy's shirt when Taly walked in. She shrugged. "Brandon is finally coming today, but other than that, yeah, she's the only new girl." She grabbed Teddy off of Sam's firetruck bed and handed it to Taly. "Help me out please, and get him something for breakfast?"

Atalya sighed, but took Teddy, "Of course," She smiled and held Teddy closer to her, she loved being in a big family, "Come on Teddy-bear, lets get you something to eat," She smiled.

Horace sat in the kitchen eating breakfast. He watched the people come and go but didn't say a lot.

"Come on, I'll how you where you're sleeping."
