The Hunger Games (In A Modern World) Sign-up and Discussion

The various police and different intelligence corporations refused to believe it. They refused to believe The Hunger Games a popular reality show airing only once a year was real. Yet, in a private gated city protected by the world's wealthiest, the children are trained and reaped each year for the show. But, this year..everything changed when a girl (an ex-tribute) was found in Arizona. And everything the world thought it knew..was destroyed. Now, in a hunt to rescue the children and family's (many of whom were specially chosen, then for the most part wiped off existence on records) from the next Hunger Games they may find their two late as another Hunger Games starts to open. Audiences world wide tune into the program, looking for answers and a way to stop it. We begin when the girl tribute has been found and brought into protective custody.
(Note: The girl is only 14 years old and has blocked out a lot of memories which could lead to the city though with time and watching the games things do come back to her. Also, the government is partially behind it though their are international representative's as well. The federal agencies, police, and the people are not in support of it. Original characters and canons (though with some alteration) are allowed.)

Oh! Oh! I wanna join! I came to the RP threads too late to join the other ones. I'm taking dibs on Tribute. Just need to type 'em up.

Actually, I probably shouldn't.... But I WILL stalk them.

Go right ahead. There is at least 24 tributes in the games. There is only one girl who has been seen outside of the city, she is in protection. The games are gearing up when we start, with interviews, mentor one on one's,etc. And will begin approximately 1 week from the day the rp opens.

Name: Yomichi Kamezawa
Age: 17
Role: Tribute
Country: Japan
Physical Description: He's really tall, pasty and pale, and has a slight slouch. He has long and thin black hair that covers his face most of the time. He has brightly colored hazel eyes and a creepy aura about him.
Personality: He has nervous tick which is him flicking his nails together. He has an obsession with the Hunger Games and a vast knowledge of how to survive because of this. He's watched every episode of every season while he waited for his turn to be in the Hunger Games.
History: His parents picked him up off the streets when he was a child and raised him as their own. They believe that he was a child of two of the Japan tributes some years ago, but they can't be too sure.
If in games any talents: He knows mixed martial arts.

Physical Description: appears to be small, and has a pretty face with long blond hair and sparkling blue eyes. She always wears a lot of clothes covering her skin, because there are several scars that toughened up her skin.
Personality: Several misfortunes gives her a little depressed and sees things as bad as possible.
History: Trained for the games for awhile, siblings were reaped and killed, she awaited her destiny
If in games any talents: Good with a sword and can make good traps.

Name: Corianna 'Cori' Moore
Age: 15
Role: Tribute
Country: England
Physical Description: Cori is tall height, quite tanned, and has blonde hair up to her shoulders. Her dark-brown eyes are often mistaken for black, and have a hawk-like intensity to them. She likes wearing as little clothes as possible.

Personality: Loud and confident, Cori will always voice her opinions if she has them. Very passionate about certain subjects, she has ties only to her brothers and a select few friends, and will have no qualms at all about turning on her allies after she is through with them. A natural-born leader, she is also a flawless liar and has a good sense of pride and honour.

History: She has an elder brother called Connor, and a twin called Ceon. Their parents were killed early on, and they were picked up by Game officials. Connor entered the Games, and never came out. Now it's her turn.

If in games any talents: She can hunt, and is especially good with both a bow and crossbow. She's trained with a sword. But her most deadly weapon is poison from plants and fruit, and she won't hesitate to use it.

Name: Aspen Blackstone
Age: 12
Role: Tribute
Country: England

Physical Description: Longish blond hair with dark blue eyes. He stands at 153cm (5 feet). Quite pale from lack of sunlight.

Personality: Mostly quiet and mistaken for unassuming at times. However, Aspen has a mean streak which comes into play as soon as the false posturing disappears and the games start. He has little regard for others and has a penchant for casual cruelty. He is known as the person that small animals disappear around.

History: From a young age, Aspen was given the normal training, much like his contemporaries. However, he lacked the muscular strength required to swing heavy objects and thus took up the repeating crossbow. He has several older siblings (he is the youngest of his family). At the reaping, he volunteered to take his eighteen year old brother's place, thus ensuring that the brother would never get a chance at glory.

If in games any talents: His primary weapon is the repeating crossbow. However, he has been given basic hand to hand training, although he shows little enthusiasm or skill for it. He can also throw stones with remarkable accuracy. (Hint: small animals may have been harmed during this operation.)

Name: Tracy DeSilva
Age: 12
Role: Tribute
Country: America
Physical Description: Longish dark gold hair, bright honey-brown eyes, an oval-shaped well-built face, and a slight tan.
Personality: Really active and outdoorsy, well-read for his age and loves to talk to people. He's a performer.
History: Tracy doesn't have any siblings, but he had a wonderful relationship with his parents, and his being taken from them crushed him. He soon bounced back, however, and threw himself wholeheartedly into the training, promising himself he'd win and go back.
Talents: Tracy is charismatic, for the most part. He has a way of making people want to listen to him and follow him, and he's also not a bad shot with a bow, but as far as fighting goes he prefers a sword or something like it.

Note: Once we hit 24-30 tributes I will not be taking more tributes on. It is possible that a second hunger games occurs if it is voted so depending on the plotline. It, like the books would likley involve having moved the arena and right after the first. But, we do need police, insiders to the games,etc.

Age: 14

Physical Description: Lis has short dark hair that suggests the idea of being cut by hand with a very dull knife. Her face is pointed and pale, giving her a peaked appearance, and she might possibly be considered pretty, although she doesn't have much of a figure.
Personality: Lis is shy, cautious, and very withdrawn since the Games. She once was more open around people, but now you practically need a crowbar to pry anything from her. She hates conflict, but mostly because she's terrified she'll lose.
History: Lis was reaped for training at a very early age from parents who didn't want her much anyway. She honed her skills well in the training, and they were enough to keep her alive through the Games. And then she was discovered wandering in Arizona, with no idea how she got there or why, and only vague memories of the Games.
Talents: Lis is quick with her fingers and mastered several forms of knots shortly after arriving for training. She has a very technical mind, and can fully visualize plans of attack, defense, and diversion before putting them into action, but actual combat is her greatest weak spot.
