Hello everyone its Clary Broadway's sister (some of you know me others do not). So this is exactly what it sounds like. It is Harry Potter rp, but in the past with the lives of Sirious Black, Lupin, Lily, James, Severous.... well you get the point. OCs and canons would be aloud and well right now its just an idea. So it would take place in the past before Harry was born and it would be when Lily and James Potter were at Hogwarts. So I am sure you get the main idea. Welcome to the start of the new year at Hogwarts school! _ Dumebldore smiled kindly at all of the returning teachers. He was always looking forward to a new year with all of the extrodinary students. They all waited in anticapiation to see the new, and returning students and what skills they each would posses. Dumebldore looked at his silver beard fondly looking forward to seeing some familiar and some unfamilira faces. He nodded politly to Slughorn and inspected the other teachers through his spectacles. He imagined the students would be dismounting the epress by now, unless of course they were stil on there way which was always a possiblity. ((Would you rather have them be on the express or be on there way to the castle?))

(I'd rather have them be on the train. It could make for some interesting character-mingling.) Slughorn absently returned Dumbledore's nod. His sausagelike fingers drummed against the table in anticipation of the fine foods of the start-of-term feast- and of the students. He had heard that a few of the Black children would be arriving this year. Successful family, the Blacks. And there were always a few unexpected, talented students that cropped up every year. He had a feeling in his gut that this year would bring in a few brilliant young wizards and witches. And Horace Slughorn's gut, though it was admittedly too large, was very rarely wrong.

That would be his last mistake if Anthony could help it. His other friend, Miles was with him instead. He was toying with a chocolate frog card collection he stole from someone somewhere. Knowing Miles, he'd probably find some way to return it. Bloody bleeding heart.

He was sitting with some random people that had seemed a little less weak then the others. He just hoped they were not dirty mudbloods. At that he had to scowl, then a fake smile plastered his face, "Hello there," he said to them, "Are you lot first years?" _ Xavior sat on the train close to a window she was exmining her reflection in it closely. She was rather tired but she was excited to go to such a school. She heard her Mum and Dad had went heer before which was always a good thing. The women who pushed the trolley around came to her door and she quickly bought some chocolate frogs and Bertie Bott's ever flavored beans.

Kane glanced around the narrow hall before slipping into the nearest compartment. A slight amount of tension drained from the set of her shoulders when she spotted Anthony and his lackey. And they were in her year, what luck. It seemed like they were swamped with Firsties this term. "Hey, Tony, Miles, Random" she said, with a nod to each of the students already seated, and she nudged her trunk under the seat, "Good summer?"

He was deliberately sitting in the farthest carriage he could find from his brother Regulus...and from all the Slytherins and potentials for that House there were. Everyone his family knew he was determined not to know at Hogwarts, or at least on the train. On the other hand, the two first-years he'd met so far -- James Potter and Remus Lupin -- seemed like a decent sort. "So, what Houses do you guys want to be in?" he asked them.

Kane glanced at the girl -- scrawny, blonde, probably one of the Firstie-locusts -- and her eyebrows lifted slightly. She ducked forward and fished a book from her case and leaned back in her seat. The book was new, the cover bright red, Blaze scrawled on the spine, and a couple clad artfully in a bedsheet (and precious little else) embraced on the cover. The Sorcerer's Apprentice it was titled; written by Juliett Noble. It was probably a pen name, Kane thought absently. Most of them were. It only made sense. She glanced down at the first page and began to read, utterly shameless. "Kane Fitzpatrick, Fourth year. I take it you're new then?"

Anthony put on a polite smile for the both of them. "My summer was fine, thank you," He said, but by then she already had her nose in a book. "I trust you got a lot of reading done over the summer? Well, apparently not enough." He smirked much like his great-uncle Tom. He promised not to tell that he had visited his home over the summer. He was planning some big for Hogwarts this year. He softened his smirk to a smile for Elaine. "May I be the first to personally welcome you to Hogwarts, Elaine." Miles tried to cover up the cards he had stolen while they talked. He dropped a few on the floor and scrambled to pick them up. He did his best not to come off as Tony's bumbling companion, but he didn't think it was working. So much for his dignity.

She herself had goten another card and was holding it in her hand, "Would you like mine. I already have him." she said holding out the card to him. _ Simon nodded, "Ah, your a Black? Well then welcome Regulas. I hope to see you in Slytherin then," he said with a smirk. Respect did not go across his face but he had not said anything rude yet so that was indeed something new.

Anthony didn't hear a word she said because all he could hear was the sound of his heart pounding in his ears. He wasn't phased by her stare and returned it with one of his own. Clearly, she didn't know who his great-uncle was. He knew for a fact that his uncle would have wanted him to put her in her place, but some kid opened the compartment door at that moment. "It's nothing!" He barked. He took a moment an exhaled sharply through his nose. He turned back to Kane. "You're on thin ice, Fitzpatrick. I'd watch my back if I were you." He pushed past whoever was standing in the doorway and left the compartment. ------------------ Miles sighed, "What a drama queen." He smiled apologetically to Kane. "Sorry about him. She was a little bit nervous.... about it being her first year here and some of the people already seemed mean. _ Simon nodded, and looked at the compartment he pointed too, "Well, he may just get Slytherin too. I look forward to seeig you around then," he said smiling and buying a chocolate frog from the trolly. He smiled and caught the chocolate frog before it could hop around. He seemed to have other plans for it instead of eating it.

A young red haired girl moved along the train corridor, trying to find her only friend on the entire train. Where was Severus? Lily sighed as she moved on to the next carriage. Where was he? Three kids of varying ages sat in in one of the compartments. Two were two eleven year old twins, brown haired and green eyed. They were first years who went by the names Alexa and Talila Peverell. Their older brother, a third year in Gryffindor house, who had the same hair and eyes, had already changed into his school robes. He was Joshua Peverell. He was Gryffindor's current Keeper too, and was good at his part on the team.

Richard leaned back in an empty compartment. Where were his friends? They were probably avoiding him since his little sister Beth insisted on sitting in the same compartment. Why were first years always so scared on the train? Richard threw an annoyed glance at Beth, as if it were her fault that he was having no fun. "I'll be right back," Richard snapped, and left the room in a huff. The compartments were all too full for him to see into. He scurried down the hallway and eventually just flew open the door to one of them and sat down. His hair was a mangled mess since he had had no time this morning to brush it before they had to get going to the station. "What's up here?" Richard huffed. He recognized a couple of the faces. There was Anthony Riddle-Pinsky and Kane Fitzpatrick from Slytherin, but nobody from Ravenclaw. "And did anyone lose a Chocolate Frog? It's hopping all up and down the train." Beth looked out the window and sighed. She knew that her brother had ditched her, but was too lazy to go chase after him. Richard always had considered Beth a hassle and completely useless. She'd show him someday. After a couple minutes, she stood up and cautiously left the compartment. Compartments after compartments were full of people. She finally found one that was relatively empty and slipped inside. Two girls that looked like twins her age were sitting down, along with a taller, older boy. She shyly sat down quickly and shoved her nose into a magazine so that she might not be seen. If anyone recognized her as Richard's sister, there were going to be problems.

Kane eyed the young boy who'd enetered and commented on her book. She didn't particularly care that such a kiddie was reading erotica that even she had trouble getting her hands on, but it did make her raise her eyebrows a bit. She wet her lips and set the book on her lap, closed and unread. She drummed her fingers on the cover. "I just got it this morning," she said slowly, "Don't go ruining the ending." She looked to one side as a Ravie wandered in -- weird, but not unacceptable, even if Richie was a bit of an idiot, House nonwithstanding. "Nope," she said, and shrugged one shoulder. Why someone would play with their food in such a way didn't make much sense to her, "Not here. Better luck in the next compartment."

She was looking for Richard and Shawn, both of whom were her year, although Shawn was a Hufflepuff and Richard and Penelope were both Ravenclaws. She passed a likely-looking carriage and poked her head inside, then her face lit up with a smile. "Richard!" she said, and let herself inside. "Did you see that huge chocolate frog outside? I wonder who did it."

Kane looked longingly towards her book -- because Jesus, was this Grand central station or something, get out and take your ear-gratingly-inane chatter with you -- and then to her wand, tucked away safe in her tunk. She bit the insde of her lip and brought her legs to her chest. It wouldn't do any good to hex them, she reminded herself, no matter how good it would feel to have a nice, quiet compartment to herself to read her book and compose herself before she had to deal with everyone at school (outside of Slytherin) being biased against her house, and everyone inside turning on one another, snakes in a pit. "Looks like you found one of them," she said, a touch sharper than strictly necessary, "Best find a compartment before they're full-up, aye?"

"Hey Penelope!" Richard grinned. "C'mon, let's go find Shawn." He nodded to Kane before turning around again and heading into the corridor. He stumbled forwards and caught himself on someone's jacket, pulling them to the ground but managing to stay up himself. Richard looked down and helped Shawn up from the floor. He turned to Penelope quickly, "I left my sister in a compartment towards the back. It's almost always empty down there you know." He led them down the hallway until they reached the empty compartment. He hit his head against the side of the glass door. "She left." Shawn followed loyally after Richard until they reached the compartment. He let himself in and sat down, smoothing his robes and looking at the country fly by. How much longer would it be before they reached Hogwarts? He couldn't wait to get there and go up to the Hufflepuff Common Room again. "How long?" Shawn asked aloud, peering at Richard and Penelope.

The train had reached the halfway point between Hogwarts and Kings' Cross Station, so Anthony decided it was time to change into his robes. He shocked himself for how long he managed to stay in muggle clothes without breaking out into hives. He checked the overhead compartment and groaned when he remembered he left them in the other compartment. Miles, recognizing his friends' distress, quickly stood up. "Nu uh, no way. You sit down here and I'll go get our stuff, m'kay?" Who knows what would happen if Anthony got close to Kane again. They both looked ready to explode last time and they'd only been there for a few minutes! Anthony sat down again and 'humph'd at him. Miles took it as a 'thank you' and left the compartment to go back to the other one, which was just as he'd left it. "Hey, Tony forgot his stuff when he stormed out," He explained.

((Gah! You guys are fast!)) Molly sat in the compartment, fiddling with the edge of her robe. She knew what to expect- she was the fourth of the Prewett children to go to Hogwarts. Dumbledore would be there, Slughorn would pick out his favorites, and the other teachers would be the same as always. But this was her year! She was finally beginning what would be the next seven years of her life. She wasn't sure what House she would be sorted into- her family had gone all ways. Molly hadn't made any friends yet, since her family's house far out in the country had kept her distant from other kids. Her mother was always commenting on her bubbly personality, and was sure Molly would have no trouble making friends.

She didn't look up from the acknowledgements page, though her grip on the vook tightened, knuckles whitening. "I've replaced all of his robes with bellbottoms," she drawled, and turned a page with infinate care. "And why can't he get his own things? I doubt you care for being a glorified fetch-and-carry."

Miles laughed as he took down the enormous tote bag from the shelf above. "I came because he would've turned your head into a tissue box if he found out what happened to his stuff." He tapped his wand on the bag and all Tony's clothes turned back into proper robes. "Also, he's my friend. I'm doing him a favor." He reached up to get his own, much lighter bag from the shelf and slung it over his shoulder. -------------- Anthony glared at the silent first year across the compartment. He didn't talk much and Tony wasn't sure if that was a good thing. He put on his diplomat face and spoke to him, "So, you're a first year? Do you have a guess for which house you might be in?"

It was mildly alarming, how chipper she could be when she wanted to. And now, she wanted to. The smile she wore was easy, toothy, and innocent, more than anything else. She glanced at Frank, rolled her eyes, and went back to her book. The idiot wasn't worth wasting air on.

Kill the mudblood. A voice hissed in his brain. Without his volition, he took aim at the boy with a spell on his lips. "Expelliarmus!" Miles shot the spell at Anthony, causing the others' wand to fly out of his hand. "You'd better leave, kid." He told Jack, not looking away from Tony.

Kane sighed in pleasure -- everything was quiet, there were only two other people in the compartment, which was ... bearable-- and slumped back in her seat. There was noise from the hallway-- spellwork, if she wasn't mistaken -- but at this point, it wasn't her problem, and she didn't care. She crossed her legs, thigh over thigh, and cracked open her book. A little more than half-way to school, and plenty of time to get to know the titular Sourcerer and his nubile apprentice.

Narcissa wasn't necessarily mad at Bellatrix, just in complete shock that she had been talking to such a horrible Mudblood. Once she found an empty compartment, she walked in and sat down, patting a seat next to her for Bellatrix. (I hope I'm playing her character right)

Bellatrix tried to make herself taller, by standing on tiptoe and sticking her neck out, chin raised. She thought it made her look more important. "We should leave these Mudbloods alone Cissy. Find some other Slytherins. That's the only house worthy of the noble house of Black." The way she said it made it sound like she was reciting something she'd heard an adult say before.

(Thank you!) Florence and Rachel walked down the corridor, cases banging off their knees as they walked, glancing into compartments trying to find a place to sit. The girls wandered down the long train, a stark contrast to each other, Florence bouncing along, her brown hair flicking around her, her green eyes sparking. Rachel stalked along beside her, her black hair swishing, falling into her deep blue eyes. "I still don't get it Rach, why would you want to get into Slytherin? I mean, it's common knowlage that Slytherin turns out the most.." Florence paused, twisting her hair around her finger as she tried to find the right word. "Not nice people." She said slowly, weighing up the effect of the words as she said them. "And you want to be Gryffindor? All stuck up, no? They all seem like they all want to be heros, live up the 'brave and adventourous' trait as much as possible to me!" Rachel said curtly, before pulling open the door of a compartment and scing her head in. "Space for two?" She said, glancing around the the people inside. (I don't know which compartment by the way, who ever wants two more people, then just say hi! )

Beth waved back at the twins and then looked at the girl's coming in. Then she turned to Joshua, "My family has been mostly in Hufflepuff, but my brother, Richard, is in Ravenclaw. None of us expected it, we all thought he'd be in Gryffindor. I guess I'm supposed to get into Hufflepuff." She sighed. Everyone always talked bad about Hufflepuff, and didn't want to seem weak, so she added, "But I'm thinking that I'm probably going to be like Richard and get into Ravenclaw." Narcissa shook her head in confusion, "I don't know. I guess she just had a terrible soft spot for them. Either that or secretly she must have been a Mudblood herself. She's not supposed to be, but who knows?" Narcissa shrugged and leaned back in her seat.

Boredom made her limbs heavy, her eyelids like lead. Kane shifted and set her book aside, careful to mark the page. She slipped out of her seat and gathered her robes, casting a wary, annoyed eye around at the two idiot first-years breathing her air and sharing her space. She shook her hair out of her face, rolled her eyes, and headed for the loo to change. Nothing lost -- and they wondered why she looked down on children. They were brainless, couldn't make conversation to save their lives, and generally were ridiculously, inhumanly dull. Why would she like them? She ducked through the train, not paying as much attention as she should.

Richard hurried off the train, Shawn trailing behind him like a puppy. He knew that Penelope would make it up to the castle on her own. He threw robes over his normal clothes and then made a mental note to not forget that they were under there and be careful to not have them seen. Narcissa stood up, robes falling around her. She helped Bella up, "We're here now. You'll have to go on a boat to get there, but I'm going to take a carriage. I'll see you at the castle. Don't lose your things, and make sure to think about Slytherin to the Sorting Hat." She patted her sister on the head and hurried off the train to find her friends. Lucius was supposed to be saving them all a carriage. Beth stood up with the others and shuffled out of the cabin. She had put her robes on just after getting on, so it wasn't a problem. After grabbing her bags and getting off the train, she followed the Peverell twins to make sure that she wouldn't get lost.

They stepped out of the train after the Peverell's and looked up at the huge castle in front of them. "Rach, that's our home from here on in." Florence said, linking arms with her sister. "It's impressive to say the least! Wait, Florence, where do we go?" Rachel tore her eyes from the castle and looked around, trying to find other first years, before pulling her sister toward a group of slightly lost looking first years.

Miles smiled, mostly oblivious to what was going on. "Sure it has," He nodded, nervously glancing between the two of them. He didn't want another fight to break out between the two of them. He tried to keep the conversation going, "A horse and buggy, but without the horse." He stated referring to the carriage, "That's magic for you, huh?"

Kane smiled, though she let it drop in a blink. She leaned forward, eyews bright, something sharp and teasing lurking in the set of her jaw, the quirk of her eyebrows. "Yep," she said, popping the 'p' with a lazy sort of amusement, "Next we'll be creating more modern warfare to compete with the muggle-Yanks and their pointless wars, and paying working witches equally to every wizard. Crazy world out there." She shrugged slightly and leaned back, slumping as if boneless agaisnt the seat, "I take it the remainder of your train ride was pleasant?"

Anthony clenched his jaw and resolutely glared out at the forest. She was pushing his buttons, trying to get a reaction out of him. He wouldn't let her win. He felt an anger flare up inside him that wasn't his own. It wasn't very powerful and he dismissed it with a deep breath. Miles laughed sheepishly and hesitated before answering her question. 'Pleasant' wasn't the right word for it. 'Strange' would be a better way to describe it. Miles had chalked up Anthony's attempted- hexing? cursing? murder?- to a backlash from his previous encounter with Kane. Maybe the first year had said something to piss Tony off...? "It was pretty quite," He concluded. "And yours? Smooth sailing? Take a nap?"

Timid little buggers, most of them. I suppose it's to be expected, though,being dead-last on the totem pole, as it were." She looked thoughtful for a moment, but dismissed it, "It should be interesting, in any case -- this year, I mean. After all, times, they are a-changin'." And really, that did nothing but get Bob Dylan -- the glorious muggle bastard -- stuck in her head. She hummed it under her breath and smoothed down her robes as an after-thought.

"But you're right. I've got a good feeling about this year." Maybe that wasn't completely true. Good or bad, he definitely had a feeling something interesting was going to happen. Anthony was the first to stand when the carriage came to a stop outside the castle. The doors were open and all the students who weren't first years were filing inside. He stared up at the castle with a odd sense of nostalgia. Could fourth years be nostalgic? He shrugged it off and stepped of the carriage, not bothering to wait for the rest of them.

Miles up at the castle as if he'd never seen it before and nodded in response. He stepped off the carriage and offered a hand to Kane to help her down as well. He had many of the aspects of chivalry beaten into his head by his grandparents over the summer. Anthony had disappeared into the castle and was walking towards the Great Hall to find a seat at the Slytherin table for the sorting ceremony. Some of the underclassmen who recognized him gave him respectful nods. Others just sneered and he sneered right back at them.

Kane shrugged, didn't seem embarassed about her attitude. She glanced at her luggage as if to make sure that it was still following, and wandered towards the castle and the Great Hall. As she passed the pile of trunks and bags -- first year stuff, she was pretty sure -- she gave her wand a flick and sent her own bags off to the common room; evenutally someone would notice ridiculously persistent bags bumping into a dungeon wall, she was sure, and let them in. She hummed under her breath and glanced at Miles, "It's weird, don't you think?" she asked, "I mean, that Hogwarts have servants at all. You'd think that we could just -- well; you'd think that there'd be a spell for everything. Self cleaning, and such."

"I think you're forgetting how incredibly complex waving your wand and saying a spell is to some witches and wizards," Miles smirked, remembering how completely useless his wand was to him when he first got it. Magic came so naturally to some students, but he'd never really get it. He looked around the Great Hall for Tony and couldn't find him. He decided to save a seat for him and sat some place at the Slytherin table with enough space for his friend. ------------------- Anthony followed his target down the hall to the boys' bathroom away from the Great Hall. He glanced around him to make sure no one was watching and slipped through the door. After double checking to make sure no one else was bathroom was empty he locked the door behind him. Stephen had been washing his hands when he noticed Tony lurking around the door. "Riddle," He stated defensively. He didn't like the look the Slytherin was giving him. Anthony's arm moved on its own volition. End his life. Cleanse the world. "What are you-" He was cut off by the green flash that was the Killing Curse. ((Not too creepy, was it?))

Penelope got off the thestral-drawn carriages and entered the castle, heading directly to the Great Hall, where she knew the feast would be laid out and ready for the students. She was looking forward to the Sorting -- she always did. Seeing all the little first years, wondering to which House they would belong, and then finding out, was always a little exciting for her. Like opening a present. You never knew what would happen. ___ Sirius was in a boat, as all the first-years were, led by a giant of a man, the school's groundskeeper Hagrid. Sirius had done everything he could to avoid his brother Regulus and his cousins Bellatrix and Narcissa Black, and he guessed they did as much regarding him. That was perfectly all right. He hoped he was in Gryffindor, half because it would be fantastic to hear his family's reaction, and half just to avoid being in the same House as the rest of the school-aged Blacks. Plus, he was thinking his new friends James and Remus would be in Gryffindor, or at least they hoped to be. Sirius wanted to be in the same House as them. ((We need someone to be James....))

Kane wandered along in Miles' wake and settled a few seats down from in on the bench, near the end of it and angled towards the masses. it made for better people-watching. It was sort of ridiculous how into the Sortinf some of the prefects were -- like every kid not indoctrined into the fold was one lost to the wolves. Granted, though, that a good deal of the school was convinced that Slytherins lived and breathed evil for the hell of it, that was probably pretty close to the true. More numbers in their House meant there was one more person to come to your defense when someone jumped you for looking 'slimy.'

Beth didn't dare make a sound as the boats headed off from the shore. The silence was only broken by the soft waves beneath them in the boat, and she watched wide eyed as they had to duck under something. She was sure that she heard a student fall out of his boat, but when she looked back everyone was where they were supposed to be. Molly was holding the lantern, and Beth was in charge of watching to make sure that the boat didn't tip. He hoped that his little sister, Beth, would get into Hufflepuff so that he wouldn't have to teach everything to her and that he'd be free of her. I bet he'd be able to get into Ravenclaw then." Richard knew it was hopeless, but he wished that Shawn could join them somehow. Beth would make plenty of friends.

Elaine, who was sitting in the boat with Cam, was also remaining uncharacteristically silent. This was not because she was nervous to speak to somebody, but because she was attempting to refrain from vomiting. She had never been one for boats, or for water in general. She clutched the lantern immensely tightly, as if a firm grip could calm her stomach. As her fingers pressed more and more harshly against the glass, the ribbed shadows cast by her fingers grew bolder and bolder. She tightly focused her eyes on the castle ahead, more to keep them from looking at the water than anything else.

Anthony slowly lowered his wand as the Hufflepuff's body crumpled to the floor. His hand still wasn't in his control yet, as it flicked his wand in an unfamiliar pattern causing the body to erupt in a cloud of feathers. An invisible wind caught them and swept them up and away, out a window in the bathroom. Now, whatever power seized Anthony released him. His arm fell limply by his side. The boy blinked a few times, turned off the running sink and exited the bathroom as if nothing had happened. -------------------- "As for goals," Miles brought up the previous topic with a shrug. "I can't say I really have any. Maybe I could try and get an 'Acceptable' in Transfiguration." He looked over his shoulder fearfully at the table of teachers, "I think Professor Dumbledore is out to get me."

I had to point that out since I literally just read that scene this morning. Sorry.) Beth couldn't help but overhear the girl in the other boat. "I always wondered why some Muggles just never liked wizards and vice versa. Wizards are, normally, polite, and Muggles are really interesting," she muttered under her breath. When Beth turned around she saw a giant squid following another boat. Her eyes grew a bit wider than normal, but she held in a good, oldfashioned scream that the girls always used in those cheesy 'horror' movies.
