...but not the setting.
The basic plot is easy enough-boy meets girl, drama, boy and girl fall in love. Their relationship and the pace at which it moves is pretty well plotted out.
Only thing is, I can't decide between two completely different settings for the story.
In one, FMC is a college student and MMC is a dance instructor. Not a whole lot of background needed to get the setting. I like it because it's easily related to in normal life.
In the second, it's post-WWIII and FMC is an orphan from the war and MMC is a 'noble' granted his title because of the war. A lot more background would be needed for this one but I like it because of all the supporting characters and class drama it allows me to generate. Also, if I run out of something to write about, I can easily write a few paragraphs of history and background to get me running again.
The basic characters and plot are not changed for either story.
So, as fellow Romancers, which one would you rather read?

personally, I like the second setting. Though, I am rather curious how such different places could still generate the same sort of characters. A dance instructor probably wouldn't have the same priorities as a decorated war hero.

Ah, thank you for the input!
Also, he's not a decorated war hero, his father is, he just gets the benefits from it. Sorry about not clarifying that.

Do the war story setting.

Not 'cause it sounds more interesting to me, but because it sounds like it sounds more interesting to you. Read your original post again the way I read it. You almost sound bored when you describe the first plot. But when you describe the second plot, you suddenly seem enthusiastic and excited. As if your writing, however difficult, would suddenly have some real meaning. At least that's what I saw. Do the one that makes you happy.
