Is my novel too small to self publish?

I picked the 5 inch by 8 inch book and at the word count I have at the moment I have 68 pages.

I measured a book that I have that's the same size (two actually, one with little font and one with big font), and the width of the pages aren't even as wide as my pinkie!

That's very tiny...is that worth publishing from create space?

Nothing is too small IMO... Anyway, you want to be heading for ebooks these days - save the trees and all that :)

with an ebook, size doesn't matter. Take a look at smashwords.com - it's free.

And they have a nano section you can upload now and then update to a fully listed published novel later - with the nano tag on it !

Any size is "worth" publishing from createspace if you want a bound copy of your work. It doesn't matter the size, if you like your novel and want that copy.

Technically 50k is usually considered a novella or somesuch, not exactly long enough to be a full big novel, so don't wory about size.

Not necessarily; depending on your genre, 50k is a short novel, but a novel nonetheless. To qualify for a Hugo award, for example, you have to write a novel of at least 40k. :)

Did you go by their word counts or just pages to your word processor document's pages? Because a book page usually has a lot fewer pages anyway. But you really do find novels of all sorts of lengths too, so having a short rough draft doesn't mean all that much. It may grow longer, or you pay publish a short book.

From memory I believe the page of a standard paperback novel is roughly equivalent of 12 point times new roman double spaced on A4/letter paper

I used to use Lulu and the minimum page count for a perfect bound paperback was 40, so you should have no problem with one that is 68 pages.
