My home time zone (so the one I started with) is a half hour behind the one I'm currently in. I'm in this city for a funeral (sadface) and I feel like I'm getting cheated out of a half hour because I started a half hour behind everyone in this time zone.
Do I get to keep my half hour of my home time zone because that's where I started? I haven't changed my time zone to Sydney (I'm usually in Adelaide), but is it 'right' I get to keep writing for that half hour because of where I started?
The official rule is to write in whatever time zone you're currently in. So rules wise, it wouldn't be 'right' officially... but no one can see what you're doing, and if you really want that extra half hour, no one will know.
Sorry to hear you're there for a funeral :( Best wishes.
I think you need to use discretion on this one. If you've flown from New Zealand to Hawaii then you're seriously milking the space time continuum. If you're losing time, I think it's fair to write to where you spent the majority of the month. If you're travelling to gain time or stealing it via your user settings then, well, that's up to you and your conscience.
