It's all been lost!

Hello,

I know it is common sense to back your work up frequently and all - which I have been doing - but my file seems to have wiped itself from the face of the earth, taking my work with it. I don't know whether it would be possible or not to retrieve it from the site? Can anyone help or offer advice?

Can you backdate your computer by a couple days and see if you can get it that way?

My advice? In the future, send your manuscript to yourself (or a reliable friend) using a web based email (hotmail, gmail, yahoo etc)

Backdating your computer doesn't usually affect documents.

Do a thorough search. A friend of mine though she'd lost half of her novel but it had somehow managed to get saved until an entirely different name in a random folder. God knows how it happened but it did and she found it! Try searching for any sentences or character names throughout your computer.

Oh my God, thank you! It had been stored as a different name as a hidden file so I couldn't see it!
