Request for dedicated thread

Maybe a mod will have a better name for this thread.

I would love a dedicated thread/forum/SOMEWHERE for people to go "wow, I like your avatar/signature/etc", as I am sick of reading really interesting threads that get interrupted by people who feel they just have to go "I WUV UR AVATAR".

I want to read about the topic, not about avatar love.

Not sure how well that would work because people who get those compliments aren't always fishing for them, so wouldn't post in or look in an Avatar Love thread. It's a nice idea, but likely impractical.

Re: Request for dedicated thread

Well, it's a nice idea... but a bit unenforceable. The problem is that comments like that appear EVERYWHERE... and usually not when the poster being complimented is looking for them. It's hard to redirect conversations when they're off topic. When there's an off topic thread, I can lock it and redirect, or move it... when it's an inline comment, I can't move the comment.

Such comments usually don't go on for more than a comment or two, so it's best to just kinda ignore them. :)
