If it's one author to one book, then it's fine. The challenge is to wrote a novel, and if that novel happens to be part of a series, then that's still fine.
However, if multiple authors are writing the same one book together, then no, it's not allowed.
I meant that different authors write for the series but each book only has one author. If that's the case, would it be allowed to write for a series that already exists?
Writing for a series
Is it allowed to write a novel for a series that has multiple authors?
Re: Writing for a series
It depends what you mean by multiple authors.

Re: Writing for a series
As long as the book you're writing in November is new, it doesn't matter if the series is existing.
Re: Writing for a series
Like the Star Trek book series. They are all about the same characters and series and stuff, but each book is written by a different author.
Doing this is perfectly okay for Nano.
