If you intend to include them in the novel you're writing for November and want to include them in your official word count, you need to start from scratch on November 1... that means no previously written anything. You can plan for them, but you can't actually write them until November if you want to stick to the rules.
To avoid both cheating and rebelling but still write the songs ready would be to have them in a separate folder, named and numbered, then put "she sung the song "Nightingale"", "she wrote the song about ants" during the event, and come back in December adding the actual words.

So, my MC is a singer/songwriter. My question is, is it cheating to write 'her' songs ahead of time?
