Hi, Quick question. If I am writing a series of lets say 5 full length books. If I write the first 3 before November, can I start the 4th and have that count? I will have started the idea, but not the actual 50,000 word book yet.
Just my two cents: I've done NaNo twice now in '10 and '11, and the second year I did a sequel (which turned out to be a continuation) of my first nano. It worked okay, but the site guidelines have a point - it works so much more easily when you start from scratch, because you have no preconceived ideas or "rules" about the story. It's not illegal to do sequels but it's easier not to. Just an idea :) Maya

Re: Writing A series
Certainly! Sequels are absolutely fine. All we ask is that you write a new novel from scratch... not that you can't continue existing series. :)
