I've been writing satire/humor since my first nano five years ago and have enjoyed the journey. It's light-hearted, somewhat plotless, but fun and easy to write. I get to pack it full of as many cliches as I want and poke fun at them, but this year I began to wonder, will it ever sell? I don't remember seeing a satire/humor section beside the romance and historical fiction in my local Barnes and Noble. Maybe I haven't been paying attention, something my main character has taught me well with his ADD. Thoughts?
Satire is one of those meta-genres that tends to be spread out over the bookstore. There usually is a humor section in most bookstores, but you'll also find satire/humor books in other genres. Terry Pratchett and Douglas Adams are grouped with science fiction and fantasy. Elizabeth Peters' Amelia Peabody books are grouped with mysteries.
does satire sell?

Re: does satire sell?
George Orwell can attest to the appeal of satire.
