Excuse me if I skipped over an option to do this or a thread already about this! :3

I love reading the pep talks. They can be so funny and are always inspirational. I really enjoyed having them e-mailed. However, now that they're just in my NaNoMail, I don't read them. I don't like the format for them that way (white background, more squished than in an e-mail, etc.) and it makes me kind of sad.
I was just wondering if there was/we could have an option to have the pep talks sent either to our NaNoMail, our e-mail, or even both.
I hear you. I haven't read the last few either, for the same reasons... and I miss having them in regular email.
I thought that originally messages were going to go to our email as well (like a "You've got NaNoMail!" email) with the full text included, but also be in our NaNoMail boxes... or maybe that was just with regional emails and notices from HQ??? I admit, I'm a bit confused. I'd really love the Pep talks to be back in regular email as well.
I might just have misinterpreted how NaNoMail was going to work... :)
I think that's something we can do. We're actually phasing out sending emails. The logistics and expense of doing so is kinda nuts... not to mention the TIME involved (it takes days to send out all the emails. that's not an exaggeration.)
Broadcasts have been working really well so far, and people have been actually reading them, so that's been nice. :)
Personally, I hate getting the messages (pep-talks, HQ notices, regional mails, you name it) twice, once in email and once in nano mail. In fact, I posted to the bugs thread about this a couple weeks ago when the first 'notifications' email showed up, thinking there was either a system bug or I'd configured something wrong. But my vast preference is for email. So it's disappointing to me to hear that they're being phased out that way. I can understand the point about the expense, time... but the implementation, where they're on top of the regular (user-sent) mail scroll in the same place is (to me, anyway) far from ideal. It's hiding the bold of new user-sent mails, sometimes, or making me miss them... especially when the board nanomails build up at the top. So I've been opening them to clear the bold... but reading the peptalks, etc when I've gotten them in email instead.

Re: Pep Talks Being E-mailed
What if you get to choose a preference in user settings to turn off emails like that?
Re: Pep Talks Being E-mailed
Then you won't get any emails :)
