Word Count Scoreboard

Apologies if this is in the wrong place, but I was just wondering when the word count scoreboard will come up? I've never done NaNo before so I'm new to this site, Is it something that comes up at the end of November? Is there any way to see who has the most words before then?

There is a word count scoreboard that will be activated later this month. But it will just show group totals for the regions and maybe the genres.

There is no way to see which user has posted the largest word count. (It's not part of our goal ... anyone who passes 50K is a winner, there is no winningest.)

Oh, I was just wondering if there was a list so you can easily see how you compare, without having to click on individual users and look at their stats. Is there a way of doing this?

I'm actually waiting for the grand total scoreboard that used to be on the homepage. The one where they added everyone together.

WE HAVE WORD COUNT BARS!!! WOO HOO!!! (doin' a little happy dance!!!)

Two weeks in and still no scoreboard. I'm becoming sadder every day.

I'm checking too. I'm wondering what the point will be if it is not up soon. I love checking word count scores. I'm becoming more and more disappointed with NaNo this year to be honest.

I have found it disappointing that this fun and highly motivational aspect of the site is not available. I am sure it was up and running this time last year. I was having a word war with Chris Batty but he did not know about it at the time. When will it be up?

I would also like to know. Gotta make sure Seattle is kicking Atlanta's butt again, after all.

The only thing I can suggest in the short term is using the Word Count Widgets.

You can create a word war widget for individuals or for regions.

Amen, Humilitas! ;) Me, too. I'm pretty sure we still are. I think our real competition at the moment is actually Los Angeles, haha. At least they were ahead last I checked via widget a week or so ago.

Anyway, widgets are more trouble than is really needed it feels like when we're this far in, kind of frustrating is all. It's just nice to be able to look at how everyone's doing with out having to go hunt down whatever region you want to look at.

December, it is still not up. Like some of the others inthis thread, I, too, have been checking every dayl, looking for this motivational tool.
Guys, not to be bitchy or anything. BUT: shouldn't things to do with the actual world wide WRITING have priority over cartoons or T-Shirts ( they're nice to be sure but... !!!)?

Yeah, I do get that, no worries.
BUT - who knows, there might have been an extra 10k in there had it been the key to world domination ;-)

It used to be fun to watch our regions word count grow on the score board and to see if we could make it to nr. 1 this year.
We used to be in the top 3 at the beginning of the month,which was a huge amount of fun! Ok, we dropped a few spaces evey year, but nontheless, it was great to see how such a Region as ours ended up in the top 10.
Well not this year sadly.
I hope it pops up this month though.

Is it going to come up this year at all, or has it been given up on?
