why is it so hard to send donor pep talks

I got an email today telling me that if I wasn't getting my donor pep talks to go to a page that was set up for them. That's great that a page was set up where I can access them, but I have a question. If they have my email address to tell me about the page, why can't they use it to just send the pep talks in the first place? This has been an ongoing issue from the beginning and I would just like to know why it still isn't working. There must be two lists. Right hand, please give your list to Left hand, who doesn't seem to know what you're doing.

Actually I had given up in November and accepted that I wouldn't be getting them. I thought I had "moved on", but receiving the email today just started me off again. You have my email address. You know I'm a donor and that I am supposed to get the pep talks, but you don't send me the pep talks. You send me an email indicating you suspect (correctly) that I may not be getting the pep talks. Really, from now on please don't send me emails reminding me that you aren't sending me emails. Let me move on.

I honestly am not sure how they have these set up, or why it's set up the way it is. I agree it could probably be more efficient.

Let me suggest that you copy the text of this post and send your complaint directly to info@nanowrimo.org - it will go right to the person who handles this directly, Tim Kim, our office captain.

Hi there -- I completely understand your frustration! I'm sorry we haven't been able to get these to you properly.

The emails from NaNoWriMo HQ and other chatter come through lists that are automatically populated through your profile on this site. (Of course, you can opt out in Notification Settings).

The donor-only pep talks go through lists that are, again, automated, but through our store: it looks for people who have donated and then sends our pep talks to those folks. Sometimes people have forgotten, omitted, or mistyped their email addresses during the process of so generously donating to our programs, and so those emails don't go out.

I hope this makes some sense! Please let me know if there's anything else I can do for you; like Heather said, you can email me anytime at info@nanowrimo.org
