combining books?

I have six stories running now, but I've been thinking of combining them into 3, so there's a beginning, middle and end.

Each both would have a part 1 and a part 2, which would be the two books.

Yes or No?
Has anyone done this or any famous writers done this before?

Re: combining books?

Jane Austen's novels were all published in two or three parts each. It was standard procedure at the time.

Tolkien's "Lord of the Rings" trilogy has three physical books, each divided into a Book 1 and Book 2.

Louisa May Alcott's "Little Women" is also divided like that.

No reason you can't do the same.

As long as the resulting fusion makes sense, go for it.
