Your iPod is stuck on ONE song for eternity. What would be the worst song (or artist) to be stuck?
So my character dies and his iPod gets stuck on one song, more or less an echo of what was playing when he died. Since the iPod is not physical but basically a ghostly iPod it can't be changed. What song (or artist) would be the worst?
In my physical life I keep getting "Justin Beiber!" as answers but I think that's too trendy right now. I need something else. Something like Mm Bop. (I like that song actually but I know most people don't.) Anyhow - any and all suggestions are welcomed!

I just want to warn you to make sure there is a reason he got stuck to that song. Most people don't download songs to their IPod they don't like unless it's an accident. Even then, I would turn it off as soon as I realized it was on. So make it a song he may have liked but got sick of or a song he liked but couldn't stand to hear over and over again.
Example is that I downloaded Hot N Cold by Katy Perry to get my through a relationship and it's still on my Ipod but I would hate to get stuck listening to it for eternity.

I have to disagree. I have songs I am not fond of on m iPod. Songs I even -hate-. I got them from a friend who thought I would love them, and I've been too lazy to remove them. I have a feeling a lot of people feel that way. xD

"Suicide is Painless" (Most know as the theme song to MASH). For a ghost who couldn't turn it off, that would truly, truly suck. and be quite funny for the reader. Or 'Born to Late' by the Clarks.
Irony that never ends would be worse than something merely annoying like Bieber or Gaga

this this this. I was about two months pregnant when this song was big, and it seemed like every time I went into the sandwich shop near where my grad school classes were, it was playing. The smell of food made me nauseated enough, and add that song on top of it... To this day, 23 years later, I still feel nauseous whenever I hear it.
Also, Seasons in the Sun by Terry Jacks. It came on the radio one day at the dentist's office and I had a mouth full of sharp things otherwise I would have run screaming from the room.

Just remember, Rebecca Black was just one poor kid with an obsessive, ridiculous mother who paid somebody to write that horrible song and made Rebecca sing it. I doubt Rebecca had any idea she would become famous, and had even less of an idea of how horrible people would treat her for her mother's decision. =P

Very well put.
However, it is still the most offensively awful song ever recorded and I'd sooner shove red hot pokers into both my ears and then start working on every other orifice in turn than have to listen to that song for eternity.

Personally I think Friday by Rebecca Black and the Nyan Cat song would be horrible things to listen to forever. Oh! Here's another one! "Voices In My Head" or "Asshole" by Denis Leary, because if you listen too them and think about listening to them for eternity. OMG.

Yeah, I'd feel so sorry for the poor bastard whose iPod was eternally stuck on "Friday". I mean, seriously. Nobody deserves that. (I mean, nothing personal against Rebecca Black -- I mean, the song wasn't her fault -- but...yeah)

I was gonna suggest the Nyan Cat song- I love it, but can barely stand it for more than half an hour. Forever? oh god.
Otherwise... I find that if you listen to any song over and over, it gets tiring. Maybe, instead of picking a song that's really horrible, you pick a song that like, taunts him for something? A relationship or bad choice he made?

...I can't think of a single artist I dislike, but a marathon of CCM (Contemporary Christian Music) would be the worst thing ever.

I'm trying to talk our minister out of going in that direction. With regards to the question, perhaps the most ironic thing would be to have the iPod playing the chorus "I could sing of Your love forever..."

So, I'm going to post this before having read any of the others, and I'm going to guess that a lot of people are saying Rebecca Black's 'Friday' LOL But I must say, as obnoxious and idiotic as the song is, there are even worse ones my iPod (if I had one) could be stuck on. Let's see... hmm... anything by Justin Bieber. For instance, One Less Lonely Girl. I haven't even heard the whole thing, and his voice and the song itself sicken me :D And then there are various nerve rattling rock and rap songs that would probably kill me if I had to listen to them even one time through. The solution? Smash the iPod, and be done with it!

Something that doesn't match how the character is feeling about his situation is another way to go. If I'm depressed, something upbeat like "Teenage Dream" or "You and I" would drive me crazy. Or if he's generally okay with what's happened or getting over it, then a song about death like "The Show Must Go On" or loss like "Someone Like You" would be excruciating to listen to.

Seconded so much! #Has some bad memories regarding middle school trips involving my classmates singing that song.
