Goals for 2012

So, last year I completed my masters degree, found a new job, ran three half marathons, and three marathons (two of them during Nanowrimo '11), and managed to finish my novel for Nanowrimo 2011.

Which brings up the question, what does 2012 have in store?

Well, I'm going to continue running. At the moment, my schedule in January is a half and a full marathon, February is Tough Mudder Georgia, and March will be another full marathon, and either a 50k or a 50 mile trail race (Okay, I'm waffling on that last one. 50 miles, with a cut off time, is scary!)

Additionally, I'm planning to finish the edits on two of my novels (this years and two years ago), and get them on the market. Here's to hoping for publication!

Also, my wife and I are planning to bring a baby into the world. Now that's scary.

Kid will just have to learn to be brave fast ;)

Find a big goal, and go for it, folks. Life is for living.

My goal is to get back into school and get my English degree. Creative Writing major.

I also want a job that doesn't suck too bad.

I'm going to try to learn Latin.

I'm going to start exercising regularly because my health is not so good and also it will help with my depression.

Read Lord of the Rings again.

My goals for 2012

: Lose at least 5lbs every month
: Write at least 1K every month
: Finish a novel

Yup, so that is all I have so far, but I can guarentee that the list will get longer

Do well on PSATs and SATs
Win District One Act Play Competition
Win (or at least place 2nd) at Regionals One Act Play Competition
Place higher than 8th at State One Act Competition
Continue writing various things
Perform well in my high school's production of Purlie
Make it into the Governor's School Summer Residential Program for Theatre for the summer
Audition for one of my community theatre's productions
Get a part in one of my community theatre's productions
Get a boyfriend
Keep grades at a B- or above
Get my license
Get an actual part in my high school's fall/winter production
Finish my NaNoWriMo 2012 story
Get lots of scholarships (preferably to NYU and William and Mary)

Yeah, I'm sure I have a lot more, but for now, this is all I got. :)

College was meaningless otherwise.

Oh, I want to edit this novel and get my five free copies from Amazon's Create-space too. The school I work for wants one for the library. Woot. I love motivation!

My goals:

Finish this year's NaNovel.
Edit two novels.
Launch my publishing company.
Publish one novel for sure, maybe a second one.
Get my driver's license.
Get back into my music.
Get my house/life organized.

My goals:

Finish retaking freshman classes; pass with at least a B-.
Get along better with family.
Finish working on ALL of my novels. Edit one.
Pass at least one section of the OGT (Ohio Graduation Test).
At least begin to learn Italian while I'm young.

That's about it. You guys sound like you have a lot ahead of you next year.

My life goals for 2012:

Find a job and apartment in Mankato, Minnesota
Get EVERY SINGLE DETAIL planned for my wedding (Ack!)
Marry that wonderful man in July :D
Honeymoon
Get a house together and move in

My literature goals for 2012:

Edit my other novel, "Random Factor"; maybe start looking for a publisher
Check out Script Frenzy in April
Read the Percy Jackson series
Write the sequel to this year's NaNo in November

Things to get done *this* year:

Come out.
Pass my First Dan grading on the 18th of Dec. (eeeeeee I'm terrified)
Actually start revising for my January exams.

Aaand, in 2012:

Get As in my exams.
Finish this year's NaNovel (which I should point out I only quit because of exam revision; it got too hard to revise *and* write).
Pass my driving test.
Get into St Andrews Uni.
Get a boyfriend.

Here's my immediate goals for next year:

1. Find a job.
2. Graduate.
3. Get my own place and/or start saving money so I can eventually have my own place.
4. Revise my manuscript one more time in the hopes that I can fix the final issues and land an agent.
5. Become agented.
6. Finish polishing my Nano novella and either submit as is, or expand into an actual novel.
7. Write and finish another YA novel so I have more than just one thing on my plate.
8. Continue working on the 100 Prompts Challenge and try to finish them.
9. (Maybe) meet someone and (maybe) get back into a relationship. Right now, though, this is one of the least important numbers on this list.

I have a busy year ahead!

~ 1/5: master thesis hopefully finished and handed in.
~ Spring: going to London for the first time in my life!
~ 6/2: pass final written exam (ANGST!)
~ 6/11 - 6/29: pass final oral exams
~ Summer: master ceremony (actually I only put myself through this nightmare to see if in Germany they also wear talars and berets for the grad ceremony ;D)
~ Fall: several weeks vacation in NYC respective along the New England coasts (I want to see the infamous Indian Summer!)
~ find a job
~ find a guy who can bear me (I'm not easy *innocent smile)

God, am I modest. It's downright sickening. *lol*

My goals:

1. Finish my 2011 nano novel
2. Complete June camp nano
3. Complete August camp nano
4. Complete November nano
5. Lose weight/get in shape
6. Learn Irish


Probably more to add but these are at the top of my list!

2012:

-Finish my Project Management classwork, that's three more classes
-Market the hell out of the book I e-published
-Edit, revise, rewrite and publish the sequel
-Have a blast in Ontario at an ice wine festival
-Pay down all my credit cards
-Pre-pay as much as I can for a long weekend in New Orleans
-Get that damn promotion to the Project Management Office or find another job
-Move to an apartment with an acceptable parking situation
-bake more

2012:

- Graduate with honors (that's seeming like a more difficult goal with each passing quarter.)
- Be more active -- get back into 5k running.
- Start writing more short stories.
- Find a job.
- Go to Iceland
- Lose enough weight so I can participate in UCLA's Undie Run

Get into grad school. Any grad school. Crap, those deadlines are sneaking up quick....
Keep my cat alive through 2012. (Actually, the goal is through 2015. She's in stage 2 renal failure.)
Average writing one short story per week for all of 2012.
Find the courage to re-read my NaNo book. I'll have to dig deep for that one... =P
I feel like I need a fifth...Finish my Christmas shopping by 12/31/11? =D

My goals,
- Lose some more weight over the summer (aka. Next few months)
- Get organized better for school
- Get a job
- Get GOOD grades
- Edit my nano novel, and Camp nano novel and script for screnzy
- Get learners permit!
- Have a good sweet sixteen
- Find out what I want to save money for. (A car, a MacBook Pro...)
- Save money for it
- Learn Jodo
- Learn Japanese

* finish my frist year of college with a respectable GPA
* write more music and play more shows/gigs with my band
* win NaNo 2012, of course. :)
* See this year's NaNo in print, via Createspace
* develop my skills as a writer, musician and visual artist
* experience as much of the wonder and glory of life as I can, and be able to handle all the not-so-wonderful bits, too.
