2.75 Years of BFS - The Day Zero Project http://www.nanowrimo.org/en/forums/the-year-of-doing-big-fun-scary-things-together/threads/46782 TAMaxwell I made this thread last year and got a lot of interest in this, so I wanted to share it again this year. If you've got a lot of BFS you want to do, but don't think you can fit it all into one year, take a look at <a href="http://www.dayzeroproject.com/about/" rel="nofollow">the Day Zero Project</a>. The idea is about the same as a BFS list, but bigger. Your task, should you choose to accept it: complete 101 tasks you choose for yourself in 1001 days, or approximately 2.75 years. They can be anything you want to do, as long as it has a definable end point. I started my list July 1st, 2010, so I'm a little over halfway done with my 1001 days, and I haven't regretted a single one. I've done things I never thought I would do, learned things about me I never knew, relearned things I forgot, rekindled relationships I left behind and made new ones. I did my first NaNo because of my list, and I completed my first novel because of it. The Day Zero project has changed my life for the better, and I would regret it if I didn't share that with you all. If you want to undertake the DZP, people find it helps to keep up a blog about what they're doing, and people doing it enjoy reading them, so feel free to share if that's something you want to do. But I am so surprised to realise that things I wrote down because I thought it would be a real challenge to cross off, I've achieved without even realising. Big things, like sorting out my domestic situation and my health, applying for my Masters degree, playing a piano - I thought it would be totally random to have access to a piano - now I own one! I forgot I had even written it down : ) Now, I'm thinking I should try to make my list more life-changing, more significant, because a lot of it is little things, like make a photo album, declutter my place, buy a new hat : ) I'll have to think about it.
