I have a karate test for brown belt on Sunday, and before then I have to do 1000 repetitions of something, not necessarily karate-related. The problem is that I am sick, and doing the kicks that I had been planning on doing is making me dizzy. So, I need something else, and I can't think of anything! Thank you!!!!
I'm a little scared to do something physical, since the test will be about 6 hours, in which I will have to do a 3-mile run, several hundred push-ups, and about 150 or more crunches, along with the actual karate moves and fighting and self-defense at the end. *gulp*
Being facetious: breathing?! lol! Sorry - couldn't resist that. :-D
On the serious front, how about writing the word 'karate' 1000 times - or typing it, depending on whether it's easier to type or handwrite? You'd be able to sit down, at least. :-)
Well, are you still in school? You could do a type of math problem you're really having trouble with 1000 times..... Scratch that, it would probably drive you insane. You could repeat something, maybe a poem, that you really like and kind of want to memorize 1000 times? That might work. Or do 1000 punches, if you do them tonight, tomorrow, and Saturday and really spread them out, you shouldn't be too sore.... Do they all have to be in a row?
By the way, I feel really sorry for you. I thought 60 pushups was hard. I'm testing for my brown belt in Muay Thai Kickboxing tomorrow, which I think is a pretty cool coincidence.
They don't all have to be in a row; just 1,000 repetitions of something I want to improve on. Good luck to you tomorrow!!! That IS a cool coincidence :)
Dribble a basketball, bounce a tennis ball on your racket (ups and downs, even), learn a dance move, draw a circle, take a typing speed test or game, draw a cartoonish figure, sing the do-re-mi scale thingy.... It just depends on what you like doing! Good luck. :)
Thank you for all the ideas- I ended up doing 1,000 knit stitches using a new technique :) And I got my brown belt yesterday, so it was all good- thanks!!
Congrats, Christie! That DOES sound intense! When I did Taekwondo, our gradings were simple: all we had to do was memorise a pattern of moves! lol. Still, congratulations for getting your belt, and practising that knitting!
I have to do 1000 repetitions of something- by Saturday! Any ideas?

Are you looking for something physical?
What about crunches or lunges? Something that would get those thighs burning. ;)

It has to be something that I want to improve, though. So I don't think writing "karate" would count... Thanks though! :)
