I Can't Stop Staring At This Little Purple Bar

I final projects due left right and center and undeniably graduating from college feels like a hug and important part of my life, but right now finishing NaNoWriMo feels like the biggest achievement of my life.

I finally wrote that book I spent years and years telling myself to write and now I can finally say I am a writer.

Also, I wrote 11,000 words of that NaNo book today. Best. Feeling. Ever.

Haha, me either. Nothing gave me a greater joy than to take a screencap of my Stats page and sending it to my freinds who all thought I was nuts for doing this.

This is my third win... But I'll never forget the first! It was my first EVER finished novel, after years of trying. I'd been promising myself since I was a kid, that if I ever completed a novel I'd get at least one copy printed for myself and mt createspace proof arrived just before my 29th birthday. I wanted to hug it! Enjoy your purpleness and get a victory copy, even if you print it out yourself. There's nothing like seeing a hard copy of all those words!

Agreed! This is my first NaNo try and first win! I'm insanely excited.

I am definitely one to say hey I"m going to do ____ then starting and never finishing. Well I FINISHED! I wrote the whole dang thing and I think it is half good (still needs major edits of course!). So exciting!

I wandered into college today and had the following conversation...

Me: "Hey. Guys. You're officially looking at a NaNoWriMo winner. For the second year running."
Friends: "Oh, cool, well done! What's it about?"
Me: "A girl who finds out she's a God. I wrote 20,740 words yesterday just so I could win." (Please note that even though this is said as if it's no big deal, 20k in a day is a massive, massive achievement for me.)
Friends: *open-mouthed stare of shock*
Me: "Yes. I'm a writer. Hi there." *waves*

I keep coming back into the forums to find my old posts JUST to see the cute little purple bar. I adore it. It's so awesome to know I've actually finished something for once. Usually I give up halfway through the story.

20,000 is absolutely amazing--awe inspiring! You rock, girl! I had under 6,000 to finish, and I started updating my word count about every 200 words! I love the purple bar, but seeing that bar creep closer to the target line, seeing my projected finish date move from Dec. 5th to 3rd, and finally to Nov. 30th--that was wonderful!

I agree. I think it was a big achievement in life because *I* did it myself. No teachers assigned me this work. I didn't *have* to do this. I did it because I wanted to.

I didn't win last year (only got to 27,429) so winning this year was monumental for me. I was so happy about finally finishing my draft aswell. As much as I moaned that my fingers hurt from all the typing, I didn't get any sleep and there was no coffee or teabags in the house at all due to me drinking so much caffeine, I wish November could be repeated. No other WriMos have the same sort of atmosphere about them, even though I've made friends from NaNoWriMo that are in those other WriMos too. Doing all those sprints, word wars and hydras in the last three days to catch up has been the funnest writing experience I've ever had and I can't wait to do it again! :D

Plus, purple is my favourite colour. I love it even more now, for obvious reasons.

I cant believe it! My second win!

Woo dedication is the key for this. I was so happy when I wrote over 20,000 words in a day. That was a painful thing to do, but well worth the efforts. This is also my second win and I am so very happy. Congrats to the other purple achivers out there. We did NaNo proud!

This was awesome! I'm gonna start writing the final part of my novel today, hopefully, after a week of resting.
