Finally figured how to move forward with my story!

I kind of put aside my Nanovel to the side for a while because I couldn't figure what to do with it. Something seemed...missing. There was something that I couldn't place my finger on that would tie everything together and also any loose ends.

I went through the outline and really looked at it, wrote out the scenes in more detail and thought about each step of the story, thought about how one thing would affect another. And now it feels RIGHT.

Of course, things have been shifted around, some taken out, and chunks will need to be rewritten, but at least I have a direction of how to proceed in properly telling this story. The hard part is done. Now I just need to write it out in story form, which is the easy part for me once I know what it is I'm supposed to be doing. Relieved!

That's always a fantastic feeling. I was having a similar dilemma about my own story -- it just felt like there was something missing! I was getting a bit frustrated because the solution wasn't just coming to me, so I decided to take a little time and actively think about it and talk it through (yes, to myself) and see if I could figure it out. I needed someplace quiet where I wouldn't be distracted, so while I took a shower, I ran through my novel in my head ( and muttering to myself ;D ) and figured out a solution. I was very relieved as well.

It's good to know that I'm not the only one who's been in this boat!
