Hey, all. Excited about my 8th NaNoWriMo this year. My name is Sara and this year I'm going to attempt a mystery. I'm still working out the details, but it's going to be set in a coastal town in Maine and involve a scandalous affair.
I live and work in the DC area and would be happy to chat and make new friends. My twitter handle is @cloverdew for those who want to follow and interact there. Cheers!
Thanks for getting us started on the intros Sara! :)
Hi everybody, I'm Chuck. I'm one of your Municipal Liaisons (ML) for the DC region. Got any questions, comments, concerns about November, NaNo, life, whatever, haha, just ask myself or the other ML Kay. That's what we're here for.
Like Sara, I'm writing a mystery novel this year. Mine will be set in DC in the 1930s.
I too live and work in the DC area. Catch me on Twitter, @osyrn. (See the Twitter thread in the DC Region Forum for more details on following DC NaNo on Twitter).
Hey all. I'm Sarah, and I basically just decided to do NaNoWriMo today because I need force myself to get something done. That means I have a lot of planning to do in a short amount of time. I'll be writing a soft SF novel using some old material of mine for inspiration. I'm sarkadark on skype if anyone wants to chat via text or voice.
I'm (another) Sarah, working in Arlington and living even further out, but will try to make it in to DC events when possible.
I am finally getting my plot worked through a little in my head, which involves secrets, world travel/searching for answers, and a fake Mount Everest. This is my second year doing NaNoWriMo and though I ostensibly have less time this year (will be away hiking for a week), I am still going to aim for 50K! [crosses fingers]
Hi! I'm Jenny. I'm 24 and I live in South Arlington with my husband, two cats, and rambunctious puppy. I work in Dupont Circle AND I'm a student at Johns Hopkins' part time MA Writing program, so I'm in DC constantly, so I'll be hopping back and forth between the here and the NOVA group! :)
I've been doing NaNo since high school, but I've only won once (last year!). I worked on that novel for the rest of the year, and I'm ready for a bit of a break before I finish my edits on Draft 2. I'm very excited to start this year's project! It's YA paranormal romance/urban fantasy involving a colony of French refugees in NE Pennsylvania, a voodoo curse, and of course, lots of kissing. It's a bit of a departure from what a normally write (Epic Fantasy/Steampunk) but I'm really looking forward to working on something that's a bit smaller in scope. :)
I'm Jonathan, I live near the Petworth neighborhood. This is my third NaNo ever and my second in the District of Cool. Very excited for this year.
I'm writing the third and central part of a five-part fantasy series set in a medieval world that I've been working on for a few years (though I did another story last NaNo). And yes, there are kataphrakts there. A land of intrigue, awesome birds, and romance! And solving/starting problems with violence!
I'm Jon. I live in Columbia Heights with my wife and two daughters. This is my 11th Nano, and will be the fourth in a row I've done after swearing to take a year off the previous December. I've won 7 times, and am currently sort of trying to finish my 2008 novel with plans to self-publish.
Hi! My name is Kayla. I'm 16 years old, I live in the Potomac area, and this is my first NaNo. I'm really scared and I haven't quite decided what I'm going to write yet, so any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated!
Hey all! I'm Allison, and this will be my 5th NaNo! I'm 21 and a senior at AU.
My story idea is ambiguous (they always are! I don't like to plan too much before November) but it's a supernatural sort of genre about a race of people who are here simply to watch the lives around them unfold.
Can't wait to meet you guys! If any AU Wrimos also want to meet up at some point, let me know, I'd totally be down!
Hi everyone! I'm Amanda, and I'll be moving to DC (from Florida) in the middle of November. I'll miss out on the early events, but I'd love to stop by for the others! I've tried NaNo in the past, but I haven't been able to finish; I feel inspired this year, though. My novel is semi-dystopic, and I'm really psyched to write it. Can't wait to meet you all!
Hi, tajavioletta! I'm currently in Tampa, but I grew up in South Florida. Having never experienced the changing of the seasons, I'm very excited about moving to D.C. this time of the year. :)
Hi, I'm Lynn, I'm just here for the semester interning and studying (originally from CA). This'll be my first Nano, and I can't wait to kick it off in DC!
Hey guys. Taylor here checking in from Petworth. This will be my second attempt at Nano, two years ago I failed miserably. So far this years novel consists of a single index card, but I plan to have a big stack of them done by Nov. 1. Good luck everyone!

Hey! I'm Brian. I live and work in Foggy Bottom/West End area of DC, and I'm always happy to meet new people =).
I have no idea what I'm writing this year, but I never really know =P

We seem to have many Sarah WriMos in the DC area. Huzzah!

Are you sure your name isn't Sara?

I'm Jess, and I'm a student at GW University, so I live in the Foggy Bottom area. This is my fifth NaNo and (hopefully) my fifth win.
This year I think I'm going to do a sequel to what I did last year. Maybe... we'll see how it goes. I can't wait to meet you all!

*waves* Hola! I'm Erica and this is my...9th NaNo! I'm uber excited to be writing book 4 of my YA mystery series.
Looking forward to meeting all the Sara(h)s and everyone else :-)

Hi, Amanda! I too just recently relocated to the area from Orlando! DC is wonderful and I am sure you will enjoy it very much.
Hi Amanda! Where in Florida are you from? Kataphract85 (Jonathan) and I moved from Tallahassee last year. You picked a pretty time of year to move up!
Hi, tajavioletta! I'm currently in Tampa, but I grew up in South Florida. Having never experienced the changing of the seasons, I'm very excited about moving to D.C. this time of the year. :)
Violetta, I just realized you're Erika's friend! She says hi. :) Very nice to meet you!
Nice to meet you, too! It's a small world, and Tallahassee NaNo apparently rules it. Feel free to PM me if I can be any help to your move!
Hi, I'm Lynn, I'm just here for the semester interning and studying (originally from CA). This'll be my first Nano, and I can't wait to kick it off in DC!
Oh, where in California are you from? I'm from San Diego, and I'm only in DC for university, haha.
I'm from the OC :)
Oh, it's so pretty there! I definitely miss the San Diego weather right now, haha. What area of DC are you in?
Sorry this took me so long to respond to, didn't see it til now. but I'm in Dupont haha
