Hey all,A while ago Rise came up with some general guidelines for setting up write ins. Here are a few of them...1. Make sure that your Subject line covers location, time, date/days, and that it's a write in. For example:Write-In Tuesdays, Atomic Billiards--Cleveland Park, 5-7orWrite-in Tuesday, November 12,Teaism-- Dupont Circle 7-9 pm2. Make sure that the content of your message gives a more specific location as well as directions if it's a bit out of the way. For example:Who? krobin (Description of clothes, location, computer stickers)Where? Nanny O'Brien's @ Cleveland ParkWhen? Tuesdays 5-7pmDirections? On Conn Ave. 1 block south of Cleveland Park metro, just across from the Uptown Theatre.3. If the electricity situation is an issue, let participants know that power may be a thing. And try to have a power strip with you...4. Have fun and write lots.
Should we let the venue know in advance that we're coming? I don't see how it would be that big of a deal if we were planning it at, say, a coffee shop (unless there was a huge turnout), but you never know.
Depending on the size of the venue, it may be a good idea to let them know.
