Hi! I noticed there are a few other Columbia Heights people in here, anyone interested in doing a write-in? I was thinking the Starbucks on 14th by the metro stop. 6:30pm on a M, W, or Th?

Any other ideas?

Let me know what you think!

I never even realized there was a starbucks over there! I usually go to one of the Adams Morgan shops. I'd be open to going to a Colmbia Heights write-in.

I'm down for Columbia Heights too. Monday works for me too if that's what everyone wants to do.

Might I also suggest a couple good local coffee places instead of Starbucks, like
Sticky Fingers, which is on Park Street right across from Giant (not very far from the 14th street starbucks)
Columbia Heights Coffee,
and Coffy Cafe

I forget where those latter two are but would be worth trying out.

Coffy Cafe is at 3310 14th St. NW. It might be an option if Starbucks is too packed. The CH Starbucks can sometimes lack places to sit. :)

I'm down for Columbia Heights but I already have a write-in lineup for Monday and Wednesday. How's about Tuesday, Thursday, Friday or the weekend?
Thanks.

How about Friday? Weekends kinda suck for me--Saturday is usually packed, and Sunday I have a write-in already.

Cozy Coffee seems cool, though I've never been there. I thought Sticky Fingers would be way too small.

So, Mondays and/or Fridays? Times?
6:30 would be the earliest I could do. How long are Write-ins usually?

About 2-3 hours long, it seems. 6:30 is a good time, it lets people get off work and get there.

Mondays and Fridays work for me. Coffy Cafe might have more room to write than some of the other places. Has anyone been to The Coupe yet on 11th and Monroe? That could be an option.

Hi! (and hi Violetta, this is Rachel from last Saturday at Gallery Place!) I'd be good for Mondays or Fridays potentially, preference for Mondays, in Columbia Heights. I wanted to put in a plug for yet another option for meeting: Meridian Pint, about two blocks from the Giant/Sticky Fingers. A friend of mine is the chef there, and there are lots of good (though not as cheap as a bakery) veggie and non-veggie food options, in addition to drinks etc. I visited recently (it opens at 5 PM) and it seemed roomy, and I actually mentioned I was thinking of suggesting a write-in over there. If there is real interest, I could try to make sure we could pull a couple tables together, things like that.

That sounds cool, Rachel!

What if we settled on a day and time, but tried a couple of DIFFERENT places in Columbia Heights over the course of November? Is that allowed?

I'm game for that plan! (as long as we are near the metro!)

How do we create an event?

Hey Nanos,

I love the idea of a Columbia Heights write-in. I'm in Mt. Pleasant, so that would be perfect. :) Tynan (next to the metro) might be a good location for a local write-in. They have a lot of seating and great coffee.

I love the idea of Meridian Pint! It's always nice to have the option of enjoying a beer while writing, in my opinion.

I want to do a write-in tonight in CoHi at 6:30! Idk how to create an event, but I will show up. :) Can anyone create the event? :)

I'm definitely interested in doing a write-in in Columbia Heights. There are lots of great options of places to write, & I can walk home, which is always a plus :-)

All you have to do to create an event is start a thread with the day, time and place in the title, and directions in the body. Then NaNoMail those facts to the Municipal Liaison.

Anyone can do it! :)

How about...6:30 at Coffy Cafe? We can move somewhere else nearby if Coffy isn't ideal.

Jonathan and I are already in CoHi this afternoon, so hammering out a write-in here tonight would be great!

That sounds great, I'm leaving work soon. I might be a little late, but I'll be there! :) (my name is Sarah btw!)

Count me in. :) I'll be there at 6:30, wearing a gray hat.

Anyone else here? I would hate to think I'm the only one. :)
