I hope your novels are coming along and you're getting lots of writing done, regardless of whether it is good or not. In honor of it being the middle of the month, we're throwing a Mid-Term party to say "Hey, you've worked hard so far (or maybe you haven't, doesn't matter), why not take a break and hang out with your fellow writers!" This is a chance to set your novel down for a few hours and chill. So come hang out with us this Saturday and have some fun! WHO: Chuck and Kay (your friendly neighborhood MLs) :) WHAT: Mid-Term Pot Luck Party! WHEN: Saturday November 17, 2012 from 430pm until.... WHERE: Atomic Billiards 3427 Connecticut Avenue NW Washington, DC 20008. Atomic is right off the Cleveland Park metro stop on the Red Line (BE WARNED - Metro has been doing A LOT of track work on the red line lately on the weekends. Check wmata.com to see what kind of trip time you are looking at (if you plan to metro) and plan accordingly, there will likely be delays). You can also drive, but parking in Cleveland Park is iffy at best. Atomic is actually downstairs, so look for the sign on the street, come in the front door, and down the stairs, we'll be in the back corner. Please note, this is a bar/pool hall, they do sell alcoholic beverages, but also have soda, etc. I don't think they have any kind of kitchen, so, they have no food menu, but hey, it's a finger food pot luck, so hopefully there will be tons of yummy food for you to snack on. WHAT TO BRING: First and foremost, your smiling faces!!! Second, this is a pot luck, so we would love for you folks to bring something to share, mostly finger food type stuff. Good ideas or suggestions would include: baked goods (cookies, brownies, etc.); any kind of hors d'oeuvres (yeah yeah, fancy word, basically finger food type stuff); something fun to share like homemade dip w/ chips; cheese and crackers; fruit; veggies and dip; etc. If you're planning to attend, we ask two things: 1. RSVP below and let us know so we'll have a headcount 2. In your reply, let everybody know what you plan to bring so we can try to prevent having too much of one thing (please see what others are bringing and try to plan accordingly. However, if someone is bringing brownies, for instance, but you make the best bombdiggity brownies the world has ever seen, I say bring em anyway!). There were some very yummy things brought last year. I hope some of those show back up!!! :) We hope you can join us for a few hours on Saturday to hang out, chat, eat yummy food, play pool if you like, and have fun with your fellow writers. Everybody is welcome, whether you've written 10 words or 10,000 words, it does not matter. We want to see you. We want to hang out.
