Yes, it's the MARTA write-in! The write-in is actually a series of write-ins, all of them convenient to MARTA stations, and you can come to as many or as few as you'd like.

If you're jumping in for just a write-in or two, look for quintopia and sushimustwrite. Sushi will be easily identifiable by her Nano messenger bag.

Almost all of the below was written by quintopia.

Title: Mad Authorial Rampage Through Atlanta (M.A.R.T.A.) Write-in
When: Sat. Nov. 5th, 11am-9pm
Where: EVERYWHERE!

11am-12pm: SIP The Experience
Address: 528 Main St. Atlanta, GA 30349
--Directions: 1) Take MARTA to Lindbergh Center Station. Get off in the southernmost platform, then walk out the west exit. Cross the street.
2) If driving, there are two parking garages here that are free to MARTA patrons.

12pm-1pm: We buy day passes (if we don't already have passes--a day pass is less than the cost of four trips, so get one if you're planning on staying the whole day) and take MARTA south to the airport. There will likely be a word war on the train.

1pm-2pm: Atlanta Bread Company
Airport Lobby, next to the dinosaur
--Directions: 1) If you want to meet us here, take MARTA. It's the easiest and cheapest way.
2) If you live on the south side, and want to park here, there is a little known free parking lot at the car rental center.
It is only meant to be used to park while you are renting a car, but it is unlikely they'll notice a car sitting there for a few hours.
Just follow the signs to the RCC and park (at your own risk) in the little visitor parking lot in front of the building at the center of the loop.
Go inside and take the escalator to the top and ride the ATLSkyTrain to the airport.

2pm-3pm: On MARTA

3pm-4pm: Java Monkey
Address: 425 Church St Decatur, GA 30030
--Directions: 1) Walk out of Decatur Station on the Church St. side. and cross the street.
2) There is parking here that is free to marta patrons too. In fact, there is a deck that is always free on the weekends just off the square on W Trinity Pl.

4pm-5pm: On MARTA

5pm-6pm: Zen Tea Room
Address: 5356 Peachtree Rd Atlanta, Georgia 30341
--Directions: 1) Go to the Chamblee MARTA station, exit toward the bus lanes, walk past all the bus lanes and off the end of the sidewalk into the parking lot.
Continue out the side of the parking lot onto Peachtree Rd. Walk NE (aka turn right) on this road and continue for a half-mile or so until you see Zen Tea Room on the left.
2) Zen Tea Room has its own parking lot.

6pm-7:15pm: On MARTA

7:15pm-9pm: Alon's Bakery, Dunwoody
Address: 4505 Ashford Dunwoody Road, Atlanta
--Directions: 1) Get off at Dunwoody Station and follow the signs to the Mall. Go into the mall. Staying on the first floor go all the way through the mall, towards the guest services desk.
Exit into a courtyard with a staircase. Climb the staircase. Emerge between Urban Outfitters and Cheesecake Factory. Look straight ahead through the trees towards a gas station across A-D Rd.
Walk toward that gas station, and cross A-D Rd. at that intersection. Turn left. Head towards Zales and Spice behind it. Alon's is to the right of Spice.
2) Alon's has parking.

9pm: The writing is through, but some of us are extremely likely to walk over to Cafe Intermezzo for tasty beverages, cakes, and pies.

I was recently talking about how cool it would be to do a 24-hour write-in: this is pretty close! This sounds like a lot of fun! I'm definitely in - probably for the whole day. My poor wallet is going to hate me afterwards, but that's okay. :)

This sounds awesome! Wish MARTA came farther South than the airport, though. Never knew about that RCC lot, but if Southsiders don't want to risk it and still don't want to pay for parking, it might be easier to park in College Park at the MARTA station and hop MARTA south to the airport to meet up at ABC. (If you're buying the day pass anyway, it's not like the train ride costs more, plus if you time it right, you may run into everyone on the way down!)

I may TRY to make it for the later part of this, but the Fayetteville write-in's right in the middle of it and I also have non-WriMos trying to convince me to do non-writing stuff that day. (Seriously, they should know better! ;) ) I guess I'll have to play everything by ear and see what the day starts looking like! I see promises of tasty cakes and pies, so the temptation is definitely calling =P

I SO wish this wasn't on the 5th. My 5th is so full it might pop! But y'all will have fun-and I will likely be on MARTA that day, so maybe I will see you.

I think I'm going to make a NaNoWriMo badge to identify myself to others....*scurries to crafts boxes*

That sounds absolutely INSANE and I will have to check my calendar to figure out when I can participate.

This sounds CRAZY FUN! Since this is my first time doing NaNo & my Saturday just happens to be free, might as well dive in head first right?
