Since I'm out here in the NW suburbs ML'ing this year I wanted to know if there was interest in Schaumburg write-ins. I know that the Borders shut down, but Barnes & Noble is right down the street as an option, and a Starbucks is nearby if I am recalling correctly. Please let me know if there's enough interest in having a regular gathering, and what times/days of the week work best during November.
I would be interested. Right now I know most of my schedule for Nov from work so I know what days I have off and such. And you're right there is a Starbucks nearby, it's in Streets of Woodfield, and I'm pretty sure the Schaumburg Library wouldn't mind us too much if we went to them about what we are doing.
While I don't have my November schedule completely set in stone, I might be able to make some Schaumburg meetups this year. Preferably not Tuesday or Wednesday nights if possible. :)
OK I'm going to propose the Starbucks at Streets of Woodfield on Mondays. I know there is one Monday where I won't be able to be there (so no ML stickers on that Monday, sorry!!) which I think is Nov 7th due to work training, but I should be able to be there after that. I'm proposing around 7pm. I'm still hammering out my work schedule right now so this could be subject to change as far as official write-in times but even if I can't be there I'd encourage a meet-up regardless. Anyone else have a different time/day suggestion? I can't due Wed. or Thurs. for sure.
OK I'm going to go ahead and put some write-ins on the calendar for Schaumburg Starbucks at Streets of Woodfield on Mondays at 7pm - I should be there most Mondays except the one on the 7th. So come get stickers! woo.
I'm also close to Barrington and could probably make a write-in or two there but probably only Fri night, Sat. during the day, or Sun. sometime in the afternoon.
First one will be on the 7th; if someone wants to volunteer to be there with table tents and whatnot, that'd be great. I'll be there with them for the following Mondays.
Yep that's what I mean! I believe there are some pre-made ones here on the website available for download/printing. I don't know if they have them up and ready for us yet or not (glancing around for them but can't find them yet). Just a good way to let people know it's a NaNo-friendly table!
Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be able to make it by 7 as I'm running half an hour later than anticipated and wont be able to catch the bus I expected to take. I will be there by around 8, so if anyone's there to write-in I will hopefully see you there. If not, maybe next week!
Hi friends! I will be there tomorrow - Starbucks, Streets of Woodfield, starting at 7pm. Stickers will be available for those who participate in sprints/word wars. I'll stick out a nifty sign or something so you know what to look for!
Hi friends - I am here at a tiny little table, but everything is all crowded and stuff... I will be keeping an eye out for a larger spot to sit but look for the NaNoWriMo sign. Also I am wearing a black NaNoWriMo hoodie. woo.

Re: Schaumburg write-ins?
I am interested as well. Being from the area, it would be accessible to me during the week.

Re: Schaumburg write-ins?
I would be open to attending write-ins in Schaumburg. An easy drive from work during the week.

Re: Schaumburg write-ins?
The starbucks is super convenient for me, and I can be there Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Fridays.
Re: Schaumburg write-ins?
Is that the Starbucks that's in the same parking lot where the Border's used to be?
Thursdays and Sundays are bad for me, but most other days should be okay.
Re: Schaumburg write-ins?
No. It's in the streets of woodfield, the strip mall that has the theater and gameworks in it.
Re: Schaumburg write-ins?
I'm new to the NW suburbs-- a transplant from Hyde Park. I'd be interested in a Barrington/Schaumburg area write-in. Any Barringtonians?

Re: Schaumburg write-ins?
Monday nights? I'm in. Is the first one on the 7th of November, then? My gf (also a writer) will likely be joining me.

Re: Schaumburg write-ins?
I can almost certainly be there on the 7th. What is a "table tent"? Do you mean a folded paper sign so people will be able to find us?

Re: Schaumburg write-ins?
I should most likely be there most Monday nights. And expect me to have some Chick-fil-a dinner at least once. :)
Re: Schaumburg write-ins?
I'll be there.
Re: Schaumburg write-ins?
Unscheduled, but I will be at the starbucks tonight from 5-ish to 9. If anyone would like to write with me, that'd be awesome.
Re: Schaumburg write-ins?
Still here. :)

Re: Schaumburg write-ins?
I'll be there, wearing the hat in my profile pic, so look for the black bowler. :)
Re: Schaumburg write-ins?
I'll see you all there. ^_^

I'm here, where are you? :p
