Edit on 1/17/2012 According to Joe (CorruptedFlame) in mid-Jan -- By the way, for anyone who's interested, we are moving the write-ins from Tuesdays at 6:30 to Sundays at 5:30. End Edit So Sapphire, catatone1 and I were thinking of doing weekly write-ins at the Caribou in downtown Downers Grove. The write-ins will be on Tuesdays (since that seems to be the best night for having no conflicts with other write-ins), starting around 6:30 PM and going until 8:30 or so. For the write-in on the 8th, Sapphire and I won't be there as we'll be out of town, but catatone1 will be there. She says to look for the person with the violin case. After that, I'll definitely be there starting at 6:30 (usually wearing a hat!), and Sapphire will be there around that time or a few minutes later. So anyone who wants to join us, feel free!

We had originally talked about Thursdays but decided Tuesday was a better day. If you ever want to meet up at the Caribou for a Thursday gig, I'm sure Joe and myself would be happy to pop by for an impromptu write-in of sorts. :) Not this next week though, this upcoming Thursday we're both gonna be in Vegas watching my parents get their vows renewed with Elvis! :D

Yay! Finally one that doesn't conflict with my work schedule! I'll be there tomorrow at least. Look for a dull red leather jacket and a black&red tote bag with buttons on the front.

sweet, I'm heading there after work because i work just a few blocks away on Tuesday evenings. I should get done at 7 tomorrow if I remember correctly and be there around 7:15 by the time I pack up and actually get out. I'll be the only person there with a green violin case and looking semi dressy. :)

As we get closer to Tuesday, I thought I'd bump this up a bit. :) Joe and I will both be there Tuesday evening from around 6:30 to 8:30! Don't be afraid to come, we're friendly people and the Caribou is all snug and cozy. For anyone unsure of the location, it's directly south of the tracks in downtown Downers Grove. If you're at the crossing you can't miss it! Hope to see a few folks there!

I got pictures at the 11/15 write-in, since Tim asked oh so nicely. =) Warning, the images are huge because I was too lazy to resize them after I got them off my phone. Also I can't figure out how to make links on the new site, since it doesn't seem like it supports the usual BBCode tags, so you'll have to copy and paste. Also, we did one word war in collaboration with the Jabber chat! The winner at Downers Grove was Joe/Corrupted Flame with a devilish 666 words! Grats to everyone, I think the average word war wordcount (say that five times fast) ended up being around 400-500. Not shabby for only ten minutes! Something we discovered: Order a Fall Latte and ask for it with hazelnut.

Silvermoon here. :) As an unrelated note to everyone, I might be stopping by Caribou tomorrow after work (around 7PM) to write for an hour or so. I find writing away from home (where all the distractions are!) to be a lot easier. I already write on my laptop down in the living room since all the video games are upstairs on my desktop computer, but it isn't enough!

If you're not familiar with the location, it's JUST south of the tracks. I usually park in the parking garage (which is also south of the tracks). It's a fairly short jaunt from the garage to the Caribou.

So for any who are interested, Paula (catatone1) and I were talking about continuing to have our Tuesday write-ins on a bimonthly basis at the Caribou in downtown Downers Grove. If anyone is interested in weekly, we could do that too on the stipulation that we might not always have everyone there. So for those who are interested, feel free to post dates that you would like to do this. I'm available pretty much whenever, so just post dates, and I'll be there at least. Also Becky (Sapphire) says she'll probably be there too. Anyway, here are the pictures I took at the write-in on 12/29. If you want to see the full sized pictures (which are crazy huge, since I didn't do any maintenance after copying them from my cellphone), you can copy the link location and visit it, or just Save As. Joe says he's going to be at Caribou tomorrow; I'll be following suit after I get off of work. :) I think I might bring a book of writing prompts that I have as a just in case sort of thing. I'm sure something could be worked out date/time-wise to be sure as many people as possible can make it. :)

Yeah, Becky and I have still been going every week. Becky's editing one of her previous novels, and I've been outlining one I'd like to try in the future. So we'll keep going for the foreseeable future. =)
