You do NOT have to be at 50K or beyond to come to this. This party is for everyone who participated and can be great motivation for next year as well as a chance to hear about the year-round writing group called 'the Journey.' Please let us know if you plan on coming and what you'd like to bring. You can reply to this thread and MLs will update this post.You can bring non-writer family or friends to this social occasion. There will be games and nifty awards that will only be made available to those who RSVP. Logistics What: TGIO Potluck Party Where: Naperville Municipal Center Rooms: Lunchroom: this is in the lower level of the center. Note you can park in the lower level garage if you are bringing something. Date: December 3, Saturday Time: 11:45 AM - 3 PM . What to bring for the potluck:

main course (always need lots of these)
Vegetable side dishes
raw vegetables & dip
fruit salads
green salads
pasta side dishes
Rolls
cheese & crackers
desserts
cold soft drinks in cans - already have 30 cans of Coke, Sprite & Assorted (leftover from Kickoff)
cold water in small bottles
plastic forks, knifes, spoons - can use at least 50 forks and maybe 25 knifes and spoons -- feel free to sign up for half.
good sturdy full-sized paper plates
sturdy small plates (for desserts)
Napkins - don't need a huge pack, maybe something smaller and sturdier?
Other food? (Just let us know what so we can be sure we have enough.)

A 100 word story about NaNoWriMo from your plot critter's perspective. (This will be an activity, but if you'd like a head start--just keep it to 100 words.) (If you don't have a plot critter, you can pretend you own one of the ones listed in the blog

I'm not sure if I'll be able to make it (though I really really want to!). If I can't, I'll try and send Joe off with some sort of main course food of some sort, but I'd need to figure out what. Either way, I should know for sure before the end of next week.

We'll bring a gluten-free pumpkin cheesecake (if it is possible to do--not entirely sure about this, since I haven't made this version before; but hopefully it will turn out ok :-) ). I switched my shift, so I'll be there after all! :D As for what I'm bringing... At the moment, I haven't the slightest idea. I'm not going to have much time at all between now and then, so... I might try to bring some chicken salad or something that I can actually eat. I have no idea. For now, I think I'll plan to bring some forks. I know I can do that much.

I will be there and I'll bring sauted string beans in garlic and sesame seeds. I believe these are gluten free as well as vegatarian but I'm not going to swear to it. Eater beware.

Hi Katherine - I'm not sure my word count is being entered correctly because I'm such an illiterate when it comes to all things electronic!! But, I am on target to hit 50K by Wednesday - YAY - and would love to come to the TGIO party on the third. I'll bring some sort of side dish, like rice are potatoes perhaps.

Or maybe not stuffed shells, with the gluten issues in the group. Are lentils gluten free? I have a good recipe that uses them, and I have lots of lentils.
