Then I spent two freakin' days just writing little descriptive bits for every single character, place name and patronymic in the book. Because I'll mention a character and then won't mention them again for 100 pages, so I thought readers might get a little lost without a handy guide at the back of the book. So my last two days have been full of "Alexander--Better known as Paris. Son of Priam and Hecabe." and "Ithaca--Island nation to the west of mainland Greece. Ruled by Odysseus." And trying to sum up the Olympian gods in a few measly sentences. So boring! But the little purple bar is nice! I'm going to add in another chapter in the middle to celebrate the little purple bar. I've been thinking I shouldn't have left out Palamedes. After all, how many people can outwit Odysseus, right?
