That said, would be happy to do a meet-up at some point if we can get a group. Not sure much writing ever got done at these, but adding a few friendly faces is always good.
I live in Hoboken and would be open to meeting up on Tuesdays at Panera (Starbucks, especially on 12th, works well for me too). I am in and out of town much these days, but will plan on meeting up whenever I'm in town. Will probably be out of town next week, but am likely be here the following couple of weeks.
Realizing I will likely have a conflict this Tuesday but I highly recommend you all put this together anyhow. I will continue to plan on future Tuesday's, as well.
Guys, I went ahead and put this on the calendar for all the Tuesdays in November. I didn't put the ones for October in yet since it didn't seem 100% sure it was happening yet.
Excellent. Looking forward to writing with you folks! If next Tuesday in Hoboken doesn't materialize though, the NYC folks have a kickoff get-together in TriBeCa on the 29th
Hi I'm in Hoboken as well...I see the Tuesday meetups are all set up--hoping to make it to a few of them depending on work. I've never done a write in before--looking forward to meeting some local nanowrimo-ers!
I'm in JC, but I might try to make a few of the Hoboken meetups. I was a member of the NYC group for a long time when I lived in Harlem, but tbh I never really "clicked" with that group, too many people to really get to know anyone.
I'd also be open to organizing something in JC if there's any interest, there's a few possible fun spots.
The JC Public Library is just a couple of blocks from the Grove St. PATH station, and while they wouldn't be too useful for a weeknight write-in, it might be perfect for a Saturday.
I can call the JC Library for you guys but I may need one of you to call and do the actual event scheduling. Many libraries don't let someone outside their area schedule events but I'm willing to give it a try if there's interest.
All -- am able to make it tonight if anyone's deciding last minute or already planning. I generally sit by the back tables and will wear a blue pullover. Figure 8 - 930'ish.
Hello all,
Was able to befriend one Nano'er last year. Would be thrilled to do so again. Any Hobokeners please say hello.
Best,
Rich
I'm a Hobokener. Gonna toss this out there by the look of your profile photo: you wouldn't happen to hang out at the Starbucks on 12th, would you?
I was wondering when this thread would appear. :-)
If you guys pick another weekly write-in spot, please let me know and I'll put it on the cal.
Afraid it likely wasn't me, sorry Constantine!

I would definitely be able to come into Hoboken to write sometime if my schedule isn't crazy :) I can take the train in right from Rutherford.
I'm with Lover of the Light, Hoboken sounds great!
I guess to take some initiative, Tuesdays generally seem to be a good fit. 7:30 or 8 is good for me. Last year Panara on Washington worked well.
Will watch to see if we can get a consensus. Cheers.
Tuesday at Panera works for me.
Worth noting: that Panera is pretty close to the PATH/train station.
I should have specified to be safe, starting next tuesday. Lets see if we can't get a few people round up ahead of time.
Was that a decision I just saw made? Should I put this action on the calendar?

I live is Jersey City, but would love to meet up in Hoboken! I usually go to the NYC meetups, but having something closer would be great.
I can pretty much make it any day and time.

That said, standbyrich or whoever is willing to be point person for this, it might be helpful for someone to print out some of these: http://files.content.lettersandlight.org/nano-2011/files/2011/10/nanowrimo_table_tent_color.pdf
They fold up into a little table sign that you can put out so people can tell at a glance where the writers are without feeling silly.
Let me know if there's anything I can do to help you guys out. Thanks you for setting this up!

Hey Eleanor and welcome! If you want to set up something in JC, let me know.

I'd be happy to contact the JC library to see if this is feasible. Also: started a JC thread so we can let the Hobokeners talk Hoboken stuff.
That said, if we wind up doing JC, I'll be going JC, Hoboken and Manhattan (Sundays in TriBeCa), and that will be awesome.

In a blue pullover with a phillies hat to be more specific.
