Hello all!

I'm Madeline, one of the co-MLs for the region. If you're wondering at the lack of action on here from the MLs, it's basically this: office jobs suck, ya know? Especially mine which has blocked me from most of the internet.

But! We are here, and we are alive! And we have PLANS for you all again, muwahaha!

If this is your first year joining in on the local festivities, then welcome! If you are a repeat offender--er, um, returning WriMo--you may notice a few changes on the calendar when we get it posted (hopefully soon, heh heh... *tugs at shirt collar*). But not to worry! We promise all the write-ins you can handle, and this year we have plans for a fantabulous Thank Gosh It's Over Party in December :D

As usual, if you have any inclination to host a write-in on your own, please feel free to post it here or add it to the calendar! It is physically impossible for us to please all 1000+ registered WNY participants in the times and locations we choose for our write-ins, so if you are a student and want to host a write-in on one of the many campuses in the area, by all means, go ahead! If you're a morning person and want to have a write-in before work, you're insane, but go ahead! (Just kidding, you're not insane.) If you're in Pembroke or Blasedell or Hamburg or Tonawanda and can't make the write-ins we schedule (downtown or in the Village of Williamsville), feel free to get together with the people in your area wherever you can find a sturdy table!

Also, for those of you who haven't tried it yet, get on Google+! They have this awesome feature called "hang outs" that seem to be exactly what we need for virtual write-ins ;D

(On a side note, I recently moved to South Buffalo. Shout out to my SoBuff homies! Write-in at Caz Coffee, anyone?)

We hope you're all as excited for November as we are. 'CAUSE WE ARE EXCITED.

So.... what's your novel going to be about?

All the best words,
Madeline

Anyone in the Southtowns? Hamburg? Orchard Park? Eden? I'd like to see at least one write-in at The Great Harvest in Hamburg or one of the Libraries. Anyone else interested?

Yes yes yes! I live in Hamburg and work in Springville, so I'm all about the southtowns. Great Harvest would be, erm, great. As would Comfort Zone or one of the libraries, although I know the libraries get all crowded and noisy some evenings.

Cool! I've never been to the Comfort Zone, maybe we could hold a write-in there. The Hamburg Library does get kind of busy....

Marvelous Sauce

Comfort Zone is a really cute space... I'd come out for a write-in there!

I'm in Hamburg. I've been doing NaNoWriMo for many years and have never been able to make it to a write in so one in Hamburg would be AWESOME.

Hello! :D
I'm from Batavia, but I'll try my best to come to the write-ins. I'm not sure how that would work yet, seeing as how I'm 16 and I don't have a permit yet, so all transportation is still up to my parents, but we'll see what happens. XD
I'm super excited!

I'm im Perry, NY (Wyoming County.) We are about 30 minutes from you. Got our local indy book store here, Burlingham Books, to participate. http://www.burlinghambooks.com The owner signed up and sent for her decals for the window. :) Me and another writer from our writers group is doing it, so maybe I can set up a write-in.

I would LOVE a write in at Caz Coffee. I could walk there, and would save me from always being late to every downtown write up. :p

I'm also within walking distance to Caz Coffee... would love to do a write-in there. I'm sure we could get space for events from Tom at Dog Ears as well, if there's as strong a SB presence as there seems to be. I'm mainly a poet and have only written short fiction before, so this is my first novel attempt... I'm going to definitely need tea and sympathy through the process!

My other suggestion... Conlon's pub... because Guinness and sympathy is even better...

Eschumer

A hearty YES to Conlon's. Love that spot, although I've never tried to write there. Guinness and sympathy and writing all mixed together? Sounds heavenly.

Would love to go to a write in at Conlon's!

I'm in West Seneca off Center Rd, about 2 miles from South Buffalo. I'd love to actually go to a write-in this year, since I've always had to go to school on the nights the write-ins happen.

The natives are getting restless. Well, at least I am. This is my first NaNo. Where in the Village of Williamsville do we meet? Can't wait! :-D

Usually at SPoT in Williamsville (and downtown), but I can't remember which night was which last year, and it may not be the same this year. :-) I'm hoping the calendar goes up soon!

I can also walk to Caz Coffee - let's make that happen!

I'm at Buff State, does anyone want to meet on Elmwood for a write-in?

Hello Buffalo writers. I'm a little nervous about writing this year. I need to get out of the house. What are some good spots by U.B. north campus?

n_taber

Hey, aeshma619,
The UB writers often have a slew of write-ins in the Student Union other locations (They have a thread going). If you don't mind hopping a Blue Bird to South Campus and a the No. 8 (I think that's the Main Street bus), you can hit both Spot Coffees at which we meet. The Chippewa and Delaware SPoT (the one where the kick-off is today) is a short walk from the Theater Stop on the subway (or Chippewa and Pearl). The Williamsville Spot is on Main and Union in Williamsville.

In short, where there's a will, there's a write-in. I'll do my best to post them all when I get access. :-)

Hello everyone! I'm in Niagara County, any northtown NaNos?

Tenma2011

Yup....North Tonawanda here. I think I've seen several other from the northtowns, too. : )

Hey, I'm North Tonawanda, too! :D
I wonder how many other North Tonawandians are on here.... I wouldn't mind going to the library for a write in, you know? xD

I am in Lockport.

I'm in Lockport, too! I've been going to Panera most nights. If there are more people in Lockport, maybe we could do a write-in there some time.

I'm hoping to make it to the Williamsville write-in on the 7th as well, but the other locations and days are not feasible for me. With only one car between my husband and myself (and his late nights home from work), I really only have time for local places. Which kind of stinks because I'd love to be able to meet other NaNo writers out there!

Hi. I'm Laura. I'm from Springville, but I come to the city quite a bit. I probably won't be able to do any of the write ins unless it's on a sunday, just because I work till 830 most nights. Sometimes six. Which is kind of a bummer. In fact, I work six days a week and haven't written like I want to in ages. That's kind of why I signed up, to try to get myself writing again.

I hope to meet you all soon!

Hi all,

This is my first official NaNoWriMo. I am way down here in Cassadaga but I am just a hop, skip and a jump from
Hamburg and Tonawanda.

What is everyone writing about, I am wondering ?

Anything I should know about the NaNoWriMo ??

Best of luck to all
